"Didn't you lose that one?" he raised an eyebrow with a small grin. "And besides, I had a crush on you then."
"Nope. I don't. Enlighten me," he replied, crossing his arms.
"C'mon now. Don't try and prank me, it's not nice." He looked at her, a strange look on his face. "You'd never succeed at doing it, anyways."
"That's scary. Please do try to contain it. I've never been pranked successfully before, by the way."
He frowned, though it was still mischievous. "What would prompt that sort of behavior?"
"You say that, but I don't know if it's entirely true." He glanced at her. "I get the feeling that you wouldn't be diabolical to me."
(Yeah, I think that works.) "I'll always have you, and I'll always love you, no matter what."
"Of course I knew, but I like hearing it," he said. "It's reassuring."
He squeezed her hand, sighing happily. "That's good to know. Really good."
He watched her in awe for a moment, distracted. "Uh.. Right, right. Um..." He paused, leaning back into the pillow. "I love you."
He shook his head. "Well, I like you whichever version of you, you are, even if it is narcissistic."
"Is that how you see it?" he asked. "Who are you?"
"I have met you, and you are pretty great," he admitted, then turned to her with a teasing smile. "But calm down, Miss Narcissism."
"Um, you said that. Are you saying you're a jealous wannabe?" He laughed.
"I thought you were only right 99% of the time?" he pursed his lips, pinching the bed sheets.
He squeezed her hand when she took it. "Yeah, you're right."
"Of course affection was involved, but now I'm just a bit unsure," he said, looking at the sheets. "I'm worried the time isn't right."
He rolled his eyes. "Well I didn't ask completely because of that."
He chuckled. "Is that so? Well, Phos was telling the truth. I suppose it's better to get married only once the time is right."
