"Well, God, I hope not. That wouldn't be good." He sighed, and wiped his forehead. "I don't think I'm having a stroke, luckily."
"A shame for you, but a blessing for me." She moved back to her original spot, leaning against the wall. She held her knees, observing him.
"Yes!" She moved backwards, raising her arms in the air. "Victory! I really thought I would break, too. You're pretty good."
"Ah.. You're making this difficult," she muttered, trying to think of things that would prevent a blush. After a moment, she turned back to him...
He nodded. "Just a weird dream, I'm sure. What time is it?"
She took a deep breath, then nodded. "Yep. Good luck getting to me."
He jumped awake, startled by her voice. "What?!" He frantically looked around before realizing what was happening. "Oh.. I'm still here. Ugh."
"Oh yeah? Wanna bet? I'm surprisingly durable to stuff like that when I'm prepared." She smirked, tilting her head.
Francis remained asleep, but his breathing pace was quick and light. It was like he was having a nightmare.
"You don't think I can do it?" she asked, a challenge glinted in her eye.
(Yeah, go ahead!) Francis fell asleep as well, and his regular breathing turned light and shallow.
She moved back, raising an eyebrow. "It is. But, don't worry. I'll find a way to make you blush eventually."
"Technically I'm not your patient, but whatever you say." He smiled a bit, closing his eyes once again.
She looked him, before leaning close to his face and smiling softly. Her hand moved to his face and she drew him closer. She stopped before they...
"Psh. I could easily do it to you as well. Luckily I'm merciful, so I'll refrain," she teased.
He took a sip before setting it down. "That's like saying you don't want to see me loopy. I shall take that as a compliment."
She seemed to relax when he did this, and sighed. "You're really good at making me feel embarrassed, you know that?"
"Oh. Thank you." He opened his eyes. Instead of the annoyed and cold look on his face, there was a kindness. He was obviously tired.
"Huh? No, it wasn't bad at all. It was.. really really great," she seemed breathless.
"The view from a hospital window will never be pretty to me." He shook his head, then shut his eyes for a moment, leaning back into the bed.
