"You were nearly frozen," he told her. "I had to go out and find you."
She watched him with a small frown, feeling helpless to do anything for him.
"I'm not mad that I woke up," he said with a frown. "I told you I don't want you to die because of me."
She frowned, seeming unsure. "I'm not a Fae, though."
"I'm not," he started, before trailing off with a sigh, "I don't want to be. Just.. Don't do that again."
She squinted. "What? You're not dying." She crossed her arms. "Maybe.. your magyck is reacting with the land?"
"My only plan is to get my hearthstone. The only one who might be on a time constraint is you," he said tiredly, eating his food.
"That's strange," she commented, her expression curious, "they've done it while we walk."
He squinted at her. "Don't pack up. You still need to sleep a bit longer."
He huffed a little, leaning back as his food cooked.
Her eyes widened a little. "Yeah! What is that?"
She stood on her toes to look, leaning close. "They keep getting bright.. like flashing."
He exhaled slowly, looking down at his food.. "Don't do anything like that again."
She blinked, squinting at his face. "Ben, there's something going on with your eyes."
This didn't seem to make him any happier, and he crossed his arms at her again.
She nodded slightly, still seeming a little worried.
"That's not how snow works," he said sharply. "You should have at least told me you were leaving."
She rested her head on his shoulder. "I wish I could help."
"Yeah?" he asked, his eyes watching her harshly. "How were you going to get back to camp? When I found you, you weren't even standing."
She noticed this, squeezing his hand. "Do you think it's Fae..?"
