"Changing now isn't going to stop some people from hating me," he said. "Some people have that hate and I deserve it."
She reached up, running a hand through his hair. Her ears lowered slightly when she looked up at him. "I'll be here. I'll make sure you wake up."
"They didn't at first," he said lowly, looking down. "I can't change the past."

"Nobody would ever allow it," he replied evenly. "They wouldn't trust me."
She gave him a grin and leaned back with a small sigh. "Sorry you're stuck in here."
He looked down at her with a frown. "I could never be the ruler again. Even a good one."
She tilted her head with a small frown. "You're my friend, Ben."
He rubbed his arm with a frown. "A bad person..?"
She slipped her arms around his waist when she hugged him, but pulled away after a moment. "Thank you, Ben. I really care about you, you know."
