Cal bristled at the guard, and took Bens hand, making sure she wasn't in the way. "Hey, be gentle."
He squinted, but patted her back. "It's alright. He didn't seem too upset to have sold it."
"It's okay," she said anxiously. "Just relax, okay?"
He looked thoughtful. "I think it counts for something if you feel guilty. But honestly, I think he would have sold it to you anyways."
She reached down, carefully touching his cheek before pulling back. "Yeah. It's me. Just be patient."
This seemed to interest him a bit. "Morality? What about it?""
She looked anxious, and decided to go in. "Ben, it's okay. They're trying to help you."
He looked down at her, his head tilting slightly. "What are you thinking about?"
Her shoulders relaxed a little, but she kept her distance for the medics as well as to follow orders.
They walked through the warmly lit kingdom, trees towering high. It was bustling, but not crowded, and they headed toward their camp.
Cal turned to the guards sharply, her eyes fierce. "Open the damn cage now! Faeries can't live without magyck! He's dying!"
"I don't know," he told her. "Nothing is definite."
Her relief turned to fear again, and she turned in a panic, dashing up the steps a ways as she called loudly for help, her tone fearful.
