She hesitated, looking back at him. She rubbed her knuckles anxiously. "Are you okay?"
"Wild animals include magic creatures," he explained. "We'll see."
She felt small and guilty for listening to the conversation. She was afraid to move or do anything.
He frowned, glancing back at her for a moment wordlessly.
Her shoulders tensed, and she was silent, looking down anxiously.
He glanced back at her. "What do you mean? There's wild animals in here. Stuff like that."
Cal sat nervously, keeping her eyes down as she ate.
He was looking around warily as they walked, moving quietly as if listening for anything unusual.
She nodded slowly, warily sitting down again.
He raised his eyebrows at her. "I know," he said, starting in. "Let's go."
Cal looked anxious again, as if withdrawing into herself. She hesitantly stood, her hands folded nervously.
They got to the edge. The inside of the woods was shady and the trees seemed endless.
Cal looked back at the man who entered, her head tilting curiously.
He nodded, shifting his bag on his bag and starting toward the woods.
Calliope nodded slightly, staying seated by herself. "Oh. That's nice."
"Do you want to bring it or not?"
She tugged on her hair for a moment. "It's.. quiet. Not much like the city. It's okay."
He looked back at it. "It's your kite. You can do whatever you want with it."
Cal looked up, a little nervous with small talk. She tipped her head back slightly. "Uh.. The woods."
