Coming from a guy who frequents 4chan (/co/, /mlp/ and /b/), Reddit (Countless subreddits), and Tumblr, I still incredibly like 4chan. It's a difficult thing to explain really. I mean, you really /can't/ explain 4chan. I can try I guess, with vague analogies. But first, I need to use vague analogies to describe the /other/ sites for a bit of perspective. On Tumblr, they post things they like for others to see and get into lengthly arguments on indiscriminate details regarding a slightly offensive post. It's kind of like pulling out a pack of chewing gum and saying "Who wants a piece?". Some of your friends will take the piece and enjoy it while recommending it to others, while others will be like "I hate this flavor, why did you give this to me?" On Reddit, it's sort of similar except it's a bunch of people sitting there in a circle debating who's gum is better than the others while there's /another/ circle of people right next to them going "I chewed that gum last week." Then all of these circles go around complaining about how the Tumlbr people are trying the same piece of gum a few days later. On 4chan it's pretty much a bunch of people going around with gag-gum. Zappers, crappy flavors, and glue-gum galore, all while giving it to every other group; snickering their heads off.. Everyone's getting a sick laugh off of somebody's else's expense. Arguments about the best flavor of gum skip any form of debate and go right into the flaming; one of the parties doing it intentionally to piss the other off. It's crazy and hectic, but entertaining nonetheless. TIL describing 4chan with a chewing gum analogy is impossible.
The reddit one is surprisingly accurate. REPOST! I never want to see it again! Am I doing it right? A bucket full of nope. Cats, wonderous cats. Oh and [REDACTED] Republicans, Southerners, teenagers, 9gaggers, and people with their own opinion. Eeyup, that's what Reddit is like on the default subs.
This one seems to be a shared hate between the three sites. There's actually a 9GAG raid being planned by 4chan with backup from Reddit, Tumblr, and Funnyjunk that's set to go off soon. I won't post anything about it though because this isn't the time or place for it, though I'm going to /love/ watching the results.
As one who frequents both Tumblr and 4chan, here's what I have to say. Each website is what it's members make of it. Tumblr, being a blogging site dedicated to voicing opinions, ended up being a place for the fandoms of all shows to just sit and battle it out. Currently everyone is against the Homestuck fandom, them having been the latest to recover from a hiatus. 4chan is basically the same thing, but free for all. You must have strong brainmeats to make heads or tails of what happens there, but in the end, it's still mostly people arguing on the internet. And that's great.
omg I hate 4chan they stole all of 9gags stuff. They took all of our memes, they even stole the 9gag meme mask
It's a Guy Fawkes mask used by people to show anonymity. I enjoy 4chan it's too full of cancer to frequent it but I guess it can be saved somehow I doubt it but possibilities.
I want to get something off my chest that's reddit-related: Karma/Dementia is best pony!
I hardly ever go to 4chan, so I can't give a "yay" or "nay" to it......Though I must admit that it's quite hideous to look at.
I don't particularly like 4Chan. Nor do I go on it anymore. But I voted yay, considering some of the stuff they do is alright. Like Anon trying to take down all those pedo sites, and the random raids they do... more funny than anything else I guess xD Especially when they end up on the news and reporters use words like 'troll' so badly. xD I prefer Reddit though :3 ahah.
