Uniqua sat still with her eyes closed. She let out a strained sigh. "Well, that sounds great, but I don't know if we should leave just yet. The room is making us find our true selves, and I think I have. But I can't speak for the rest of you. And like I said, friends are there for friends."
"Uniqua how many more of those reapers are there in here?" Asks Rashall a plan formulating in his head.
"That was the only one. Reapers don't chase after one pony over a period of time- there's many more they could choose from. Why?" Uniqua says.
"How would one attract them?" Asks Rashall slightly revealing his plan, these things would burn in the warp for attacking his friends.
Uniqua looks at him with fear in her eyes. "How should I know, I only got attacked, I didn't purposely attract it. I don't even know how it got down here!" she shudders. "You wouldn't bring it back, would you?" She whispers so only he can hear.
"Not to you, Raven, or Stella no but I would lead them into the null zone and take them all out. Even though there's one thing, I may not come back," says Rashall.
Uniqua yells out desperately "This room is trying to get us to want to sacrifice ourselves! For the sake of our lives, we have to stay together! It's the only way to get out alive! How many times do I have to say it, friends. Are. There. For. Friends!" She stomps her hoof in time to her last words.
Rashall suddenly and without warning hugs Uniqua, "Don't worry then I'll try and make it back, but those things want to hurt my friends I'll make sure they never set eyes upon you, Raven, or Stella again," he says at last nodding towards Raven he adds, "Make sure you get to Stella and round up any others we might have missed along the way, Pantheon willing I will see you either back here or elsewhere." Rashall then starts to pace towards the Null zone aware of what was about to happen and hoping he would get to see these ponies again.
Uniqua growls and blushes. "I don't care if it gets us! It left, Rashall. It's gone! J-just leave it be! Don't r-risk yourself, I-I... I.." Uniqua wasn't sure why she was crying. "I just, I just don't want to lose you. You're my friend, and I care about my friends. Please don't go." She whimpers. "Please.." she repeats, still wondering why she burst out crying.
Rashall stops cold in his tracks and turns back to face Uniqua. "Uniqua it will be okay, there's something I want you to always remember even if I do return a little phrase nothing more nothing less. It goes like this: I am the light in the darkness, I shall always brave the darkness no matter the cost," says Rashall with a smile, he feels something wet roll down his cheek a single lone tear. Interesting, thought Rashall, why is it that that is there? Without out a word he walks up to Uniqua and takes off his pack and cloak, he places the cloak on Uniqua without a word and then turns back to the null zone vanishing into the darkness he makes for what he believes is the center of zone. Once there he begins a soft chant that oddly enough filters throughout the entire area carrying all the way back to Raven and Uniqua and any others that are down here in the darkness. The words are those of the Eldar, Rashall's kindred, the chanting has the affect he wants it to, within seconds shrill screams can be heard all around Eldar words had the effect of repulsion to those things made of darkness and black hearts and thus they wished to end his life there and then, but that's what Rashall wanted. When the reapers where in range his voice shifted back to regular speech and a new chant began, his former chant had created a barrier through which the reapers could enter but not leave they were effectively trapped. "I am the Hammer, I am the Sword in His hand, I am the Point of His spear," says Rashall half way through the chant growing in pitch, the reapers are repelled by the words some even burn at their words Rashall continues, I am the Gauntlet about His Fist, I am the Bane of His foes and the Woe of the treacherous," says Rashall drawing all his energy into the last part of the chant before finally releasing it, "I am the End!!!" Shouts Rashall into the darkness opening his eyes to full, despite the darkness something cracks in the space above Rashall as though the space above him is being torn asunder. The rips grow larger and larger and an image starts to show, a grand hall can be seen the light of a spectral blue star starts to shine down onto Rashall and the surrounding area picking out his friends in the distance the reapers caught in the area around Rashall are instantly incinerated. The job done Rashall slowly falls to the ground and lies there his eyes closed, but still breathing.
The tear in the air above is still there but receding slowly, two ponies, a Stallion and a Mare come out of the tear and land besides Rashall and Uniqua. "Now now why are you crying Uniqua?" Says the Mare that just arrived, her voice is calm and soothing.
"Don't worry you can tell us, unless of course not even you truly know. If that is the case then take a moment and search deep down and find out why you are crying," says the mare.
Uniqua looked down at her hooves. "I guess the thought of losing Rashall, or anypony really, made me remember my fillyhood."
"Ah then a past event, I'm sure Rashall told you about us," says the stallion walking closer and sitting down next to Rashall.
Uniqua tries to remember anything Rashall might have said about the mare and stallion, but she couldn't. "I, I don't think he did." She says, laying down. She felt very tired all of a sudden.
"We're his parents Uniqua, though we passed from the world of the living some time ago we have returned now because of what Rashall just did," says the mare with a smile, "Now I'm afraid it's time for us to go, look after our son for us Uniqua, he can be a little hard headed at times. You might want to get some rest now as well and don't worry about the darkness anymore," says Rashall's mother together she and Rashall's father return to the tear which disappears behind them. Though the light has faded out the place they are in doesn't seem as dark as it once was.
Uniqua falls asleep just after they leave. She didn't rest long, however. When she woke up, she tried to stand up, but her muscles were sore and it hurt to even stretch. She looked around, only slightly awake. Try as she may, sleep wouldn't come to her. Rashall still lay just ahead of her, breathing slowly. She let out a sigh, wondering why she couldn't sleep.
