He rooted through the horrific scene and found a backpack. He picked that up and made his way back to base, visibly affected by the scene.
He looked to her as he enter the building and dropped the backpack, "Just this backpack. Not sure what's in it yet." He looked down to it, the kneeled and opened it up, "Looks like medicine, food, and... A journal."
"Maybe... Maybe." He said, setting the journal down on a desk, "Maybe tomorrow. We gotta start a fire and get dinner ready."
He takes out the cans from the backpack, "Looks like franks and beans. Better than our usual." He walks over to their fire pit and starts to prepare the fire.
He starts up the fire and pops open the cans, pours the contents into a pot and holds it over the fire. "They'll be done in no time." He said with a slight smile.
He looks to her, his smile growing, "Glad to see ya smiling, Jackie." He looks back to the beans, "I know things seem grim right now, but we sure as hell shouldn't give up smiling and being happy and all that jazz."
"Mhmm." He agreed, "We gotta stick together, we're a team and a damn good one at that. Plus, you're all I've really got at this point..."
"Yeah... We could really pop some heads with that thing. Too bad I used the last bullet back in Trottingham..."
"Definitely." He says, pouring some of the now hot Franks and Beans into both the cans, then hands her a can with a smile, "Eat up."
