Nightshade sat on the couch, finding it to be quite comfortable. "Tea would be nice, thank you." She had never heard of this "White Hope" pony, but his tea couldn't be any worse than the crazy potions and concoctions that her father used to make her drink.
Snow nodded and hopped up, heading quickly out the front door and coming back in a few moments later with a few beautiful flowers in her mouth, which she levitated out to show Nightshade, "White Hope flowers!" She said happily before turning towards a hallway, "Oh, do not go down the hallway to the right of me. It leads to my study. The door may not open for you, but I just want you to know not to waste your time." She explained before disappearing behind a door into the kitchen
"I might be getting a little bit tired of it..." She shrugs, "Well then let's talk about you. What do you do as leisure when you're not teaching?"
Crimson looked around the bar. Knowing that his job was done and his usefulness to the bar now rendered obsolete, he went through the door and walked out to return home. He brushed his mane behind his head and walked towards the edge of town towards his home.
Saul looked at the sky. He has been lost in his thought for a few hours now. He was getting tired. He stood up, almost shaking, and headed to his ''home''. He was sure to get lost anyways.
Feeling slightly overwhelmed by the day's events, Nightshade sat on the couch and waited for Snow to return with the tea. She had learned a few things about herself tonight, and she was having difficulty processing them. For starters, she had learned that she was not as fearless as she had liked to believe. The terror she had felt while asking Snow out on an actual date had come as a complete shock to her. Perhaps even more shocking to her had been the attraction she had felt towards Snow Mark. What had started out as an attempt to befriend a lonely-looking pony had somehow turned into something... else. She sighed, as the horrible little voice returned. "Congratulations, she invited you in for tea. How are you going to mess things up THIS time?"
Snow eventually made her way back with two full cups of tea, both steaming that showed how freshly made it was, "Here we are!" Snow said happily as she set a cup down in front of Nightshade, "I hope you enjoy!" She continued as she sat next to Nightshade and began to carefully sip at her tea
Nightshade sipped her tea, unsure of what to expect. "This is delicious! Thank you." She turned to Snow, and smiled. "I must say, you are not at all what I was expecting. The newspapers and magazines never mentioned how kind you are..." Her cheeks colored slightly. "...and the photographs can never really capture how beautiful."
Saul had followed the mayor's instructions to get to his new house. But nhe was lost, again, and was about to simply give up. He could always teleport to somewhere he knew; town hall, Bakery, or perhaps the park. But all of thoses places wouldn't show up in his mental town map. He stopped, looking for street signs. He was already on the outskirts of the city, but maybe too much. And, much more, surely in the wrong direction. He sighed, and looked around. If he was to use magic, nobody had to see it. When he was sure no single lifeform could see him, he tried to teleport. He knew the spell, but it was a bit too difficult for him; but he got the spell right a few times. He tried to focus on somewhere. When he thought of the bakery, he could only see Snow, and lost his focus. He tried to focus on the park, but then again, the image of Snow crying forced him to take another guess. The resstaurant. He could hear the music, feel welcomed again. He activated the final components of the spell, and a flash of dark light took him away.
Snow blushed heavily at Nightshade's comments, her heart doing a little flutter from it. "well...Thank you for that...That's...good to hear, that you think that...." She said slowly and embarresed, looking down into her tea, unable to meet Nightshade's eyes as her cheeks fill with blush. She slowly took a sip of her tea again, letting the sweet and savory taste of the White Hope tea roll over her tongue, trying to give herself a moment to recollect herself,
Still slightly nervous, Nightshade attempted to make conversation. "I'd never heard of White Hope until today. Where does it come from?" Having spent much of her fillyhood living in Canterlot, and training with her father in the Everfree Forest, she was familiar with most of Equestria's exotic plant species. She was always interested in learning something new.
Snow smiled, obviously happy to be able to tell the story of the White Hope, "Well, the White Hope is a flower that my family breed by itself, going all the way back to before Equestria itself, believe it or not. Each new generation added some new trait to it. Me, for example, has added it's slightly alcoholic taste and it's rapid growth and such. It has never left our family, ownership of the White Hopes going to the most successful and oldest of that particular generation. And since I'm the only Mark left that I know of..."
"Well... Marking mostly. Though when I do get some proper time off I mainly relax at home or head to the spa. I only get round to shopping once every fortnight so I tend to grow what I can and buy what I cant grow in bulk." She smiled as she finished off her starter and began telling stories of her classes and how the whole necklace breaking came about as well as a funny story involving Cheerilee and big mac. (Feather Fire time skip to end of meal?)
Nightshade placed her hoof on Snow's foreleg, in an attempt to comfort her. "It's a remarkable plant, and I'm sure that your family would be very proud to see what you've done with it." She smiled. "They'd be proud of you, as well."
Snow gave Nightshade a small smile, "Thanks..." She said softly before leaning back onto the couch, setting her tea on a coaster on the table. "ya know...Meeting you was probably the only good thing that happened today..." She muttered as she stared up at the ceiling. then, a small idea crossed her mind, "Hm...Hey, you want to see what I'm working on currently?" She asked Nightshade
Nightshade beamed. Mark Co. was famous for it's amazing innovations, and she was being offered the opportunity to see one in it's early stages. Trying to hide her excitement, she nodded. "I'd love to see your work."
Snow smiled brightly and got up and quickly headed down the hallway to her study. There, inside the study, she grabbed essentially two T-shaped poles with two bell looking things on them with a wire connecting the two, and came back out into the living room, "Well, here it is, my replacement for my own telegraph!" She said happily before giving Nightshade one of the T's, "Put the slightly bigger one in front of your mouth and the other in your ear." Snow directed before disappearing down the hallway, yelling as she went, "Speak into the bell in front of your mouth whenever you're ready! Loudly and clearly please!" She said before closing a door behind her
Doing as Snow had instructed, Nightshade felt the sudden, unexplainable urge to say 'Mister Watson, come here. I want to see you.' Ignoring it, she instead said, quite loudly, "IS THIS WORKING? AM I DOING THIS RIGHT?"
Snow held the reciever bell away from her ear as Nightshade began yelling at her, causing her ear to ring a bit, before speaking in a calm, firm voice, "Yes. It is working. It has been working as my experiments before have shown. And you don't need to yell quite so loudly."
"SOR... sorry. This thing is amazing! What do you call it?" Nightshade groaned inwardly. Why had she asked if it was working? That had been a foolish question. Snow would not have been so eager to show it off if it didn't work properly. She hoped that she hadn't offended her.
