A Love Worth Fighting For (Roleplay)

Snow looked at Eluuna with a concerned look, "Is there something wrong?" She asked before sighing, "Right...you've always treated me like this...Well...I just wanted to let you know, no rent for three months and half rent for the next year. And also..." Snow pulled a small bouquet of White Hopes, "For your store, use as flavoring/spices for the bread and such, decorations, whatever you wish..." She said sadly, clearly saddened by how coldly Eluuna treated her, "Could I help you with anything potentially?"

 

Crimson walked inside of the restaurant carrying his guitar, and got a somewhat positive reception from those he walked by. Knowing that he was a performer at heart, they moved slightly to allow Crimson to pass until walking backstage. Once he was backstage, he found himself with several other performers from a range of musical talents and genres, from Jazz to Pop, Electronic to Rock.

Tonight was what he understood was "Music Night", where live performances would be taking place in the bar known as the 'Midnight Smile'. This would have been the first time Crimson had performed solo, yet alone live as with music as a profession. He could also act, but wanted to stick with the theme of music.

He waited backstage, practicing slightly with his guitar until he was ready to perform. Scheduled to perform with in the next hour, he would certainly not disappoint.

 

"O-Oh?! Did you... Did you maybe l-lose something, Miss Eluuna...?" Narrowleaf asked, staring down at the floor. "I could m-m-maybe find it... If you want th-that is..." he offered, looking up and lips curling into a tiny smile.

Snow sighed, and turned and left, silently leaving the White hopes on Eluuna's counter as she turned and left her restaurant, unused to ponies treating her like that, and for no reason that she knew about, she ran the most famous, most respected, and the most well-treating and honest business in all of Equestria. How could Eluuna not respect that? Snow shook her head and ignored the awed gazes on her as she walked through the Market. Snow was a rare sight in Ponyville, what with her living on the outskirts in a secluded mansion that was oh so empty as she toiled away night and day to keep Mark Co running smoothly. Then came the cons of her free time...
"Hey Ms Mark! You should divorce that job of yours and get a stallion for yourself!" Some pony yelled at her randomly, and that unleashed a rain of ponies mocking her "obsession with her business" and also the stallions who tried to make moves on her, each one causing her to slink a little lower to the ground. By the time she made it to her favorite place in Ponyville, the top of the tallest hill in Ponyville Park, topped with a single tree, she was virtually crawling, and almost in tears.

About twenty minutes before he was ready to perform, a guitar string broke. Unhappy, he was given another one by the restaurant owners as he quickly adjusted it to his guitar. He wore a light brown jumper and blue jeans as he he let his hair alone.

(Going for a Kurt Cobain look for Crim in the performance.)

 

Nightshade's route back home took her through the park, were she spotted Snow Mark sitting alone on the hill.
The Unicorn was visibly upset about something.

She sighed. She didn't really have time to stop, but she couldn't just leave Snow alone like that.
If it came down to it, she could tell the class that she had arrived late to teach them the importance of patience.

She walked up the hill and placed a hoof on Snow's shoulder.
"Excuse me, Miss Mark? Are you okay? Did something happen?"

 

Snow, who at first responded to Night in shock then sullen sadness, she shook her head, "No...No...everything's fine...Just...Apparently building the most successful business in Equestria, inventing many of the inventions you all take for granted, and working my tail off in 100+ hour weeks to ensure that continues to stay that way doesn't mean anything unless I have a stallion in my life..." snow said with a sigh, "Oh, who am I kidding, I'm slowly sliding past my prime, before I know it, I won't be able to bear foals, and unable to groom a proper successor to Mark Co..." snow turned to look at Night with tears in her eyes, "Do you know how...How hard it is to run a business like Mark Co, while keeping it as straight and honest of a business as possible, while maintaining a superb public image, while trying to invent things to improve the lives of all ponies...Then...There's the fact I've been single all my life..."Married to my work" they say...And they are right..."

 

Narrowleaf nodded, and walked back a few steps. "Yeah, w-well..." he began to murmur. "I'm gonna go t-to my bar... You should c-come by. I mean, not for drinks. Well, I-I... I mean, come by for drinks, b-but, I... Uh... You..." he swiftly darted out of the bakery, then passing through the line at his bar. "C-Come on in!" he said, leaping over the corner and unlocking the door.

 

Saul looked at the sun.
She wouldn't come. He knew it.
She forgot, or something. And he didn't have to take a chance and wait any longer; if anything spilled from her mouth, about his arrival, or identity, it'd be to late.
He stood up, and replaced his saddlebags, before running down the hill. She was somewhere nearby, he could feel it.
He ran down to the bakery's street. He passed near the bar, strangely closed, then in front of the bakery.
When he realised she wasn't inside, he turned back; could it be she passed by another street or something?
He went back at the park, stopping on a bench. When he looked up, trying to calm his heartbeat, he saw an hill.
And, on the top of it, he saw her silhouette. With another pony again.
Was it that she was too popular, or simply getting too much attention? Anyways. He had other concerns on his mind.
'Don't you dare talk about me, Snow. Don't you dare spoil it.'
He decided to wait again. 'Be patient, or you'll look too pushy, and she'll definetively won't want to talk to you.'
He'll wait in line this time, as a mark of respect (he laughed mentally when he mentally said mark), but if anyone approches her after that... Impatience as it's limits. And Saul was getting impatient.
He walked to the hill, and sat there. He still couldn't hear their conversation, sadly. Not that he wanted to eavesdrop, but t wouldn't hurt to have more information about her. His eyes darted right at Snow, waiting for the good moment to climb up the hill.

 

Golden groaned, facehoofing, "Sorry Sorry... I've been working too much. I'm not surprised I made that mistake." She slides her hoof down her face groaning, "That'd be great thank you" She gives a warm smile, moving around her equipment and tools to prepare for a much larger necklace.

 

Snow chuckled and shook her head, "Have I ever been to Canterlot' she says." Snow muttered to herself, "I lived in Canterlot until about 7-8 years ago, that's when I moved here to escape the city to focus more on my work. As trust me, I know him, my...eh, Sister is his superior. Master Protector Dark Light? Ever heard of her? And to answer your question, yes, I am...I just feel like Im throwing away TOO much of my life for others..."

"If you really want to forget your troubles, you should come with me tonight.
That little restaurant near the Carousel Boutique is going to have a singer tonight, and I hear he's pretty good.
We can have some drinks, listen to some music, and generally forget about our problems.
What do you think? Are you in?"

 

Snow suddenly gave Night a sly look at the mentioning of drinks, "A few? You think I'm some lightweight?" She said slyly to Night, despite her small stature, "I run a business! I need more than a "few" drinks! But yes, that sounds lovely!" Snow added, "Any idea who the singer's gonna be?"

 

Saul felt something fall from his saddlebag.
It was the file. He could swear that the one sheet about his old self was calling him. Or was it the wind whistling through his holed horn?
He was impatient over nothing. Did he really needed to talk to Snow at all? Pointless. She could spoilt his identity anyways. It's not like he liked ponyville or prefered it to any other place in Equestria...
But, the way he felt when first walking in the city. The peace, the quiet, the welcoming people...
He looked at Snow. He won't screw that chance he had. He'll get himself known here, and everypony won't be scared of him when his hat drops. Or when they'll hear the wistle.
He found out what to do now; he'll find something he never quite understood, even after his studies of psychology, and research on it back at the old lab.
He'll find love. From all of them, or a special one. Maybe it'll cure him? Maybe he'll become normal again?
He putted back the files in his saddlebag, and looked up the hill. He stretched himself, and cleared his throat.
'Now Snow, i hope you'll be like your father, and be a good support this time. I think it's time i make myself a friend; it could be usefull.'

 

Snow perked up at hearing a voice from behind the tree talking to her, but the moment her father was mentioned, her face instantly filled with a strange mix of anger, pain, guilt, and sadness, but soon anger won over and stomped behind the tree and put her face right against Saul's, not even realizing it was him at first in her anger, as her eyes stared death into his from the few inches separating them, "DONT YOU DARE BRING UP MY FAMILY. THAT WAS EIGHT YEARS AGO. I TRIED MAKING UP FOR IT. AND NOW I GOT A WALKNG REMINDER!! HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOMEPONY DECIDED TO REMINDED YOU OF-" Snow suddenly cut off, then teleported away as she got dangerously close the incident​.

 

Saul almost got an heartattack, but then realized what happened. And he didn't know what to do between laugh or feel embarrassed; so he simply laughed.
''Oh, should i stop thinking out loud. I'd bet she isn't even angry.''
He looked at the pony on the top of the hill.
''Sorry if i cutted up your discussion; She'll be back before you know it.'' He climed up the hill. ''Again, sorry. Have i interrupted anything important?''
