(As y'all can prolly tell, I have Snow headcanoned as the reason Equestria has such a weird mix of technology x3) Snow chuckled, unwilling to share why she worked so much, it had much so much more than what little she told, "We shall see, we shall see..." she muttered before quickly pouring a quick shot of whiskey and followed it up with a glass of wine, "Ah, that's good...." she muttered, before taking a moment to look around the room, "You know...It is hard work to try to industrialize an entire nation with a single company." she said to Night as she looked at the various ponies in the room, "But Mark Co is somehow managing to do just that...Maybe it's because we pay our employees twice the minimum wage upon entry..." Snow looked at Night slightly and winked, "After all, happy workers makes good workers. And good workers mean the company does better as a whole." Snow then sighed, "Anyways. Enough business, I want to ask you...How would you suggest a mare who has pretty much the entire Equestrian economy on her shoulders have fun and meet some stallions? Stallions who are blind to my money..."
"Blind to your money... that's a tough one. You're on the cover of half of the magazines on the newsstand, so it's going to be difficult finding anypony who doesn't know who you are." Nightshade thought for a minute, and remembered something she had heard earlier at Sugarcube Corner. "I've got it. That strange pink mare at the Cakes' bakery mentioned a party tomorrow afternoon. Something about the new Daring Do book coming out." She grinned. "Everypony is going to be dressed as their favorite character. You can go completely incognito."
Snow raised an eyebrow, "I think I'll pass. And I didn't mean somepony who doesn't know about me, I meant somepony who simply cares more about ME than my money or the fame that would come with being in a relationship with me. Aaand one small constraint...I have a week..." Snow said sadly
"Well now... that is slightly more difficult." She sighed. "I don't know anypony in town very well, but they've all treated me well enough. However, with your company owning half of the town, you probably seem a little intimidating to most of them." She looked at Snow curiously. "If I may ask, why a week?"
(( Woopsie daisy! Totally didn't look over that~ )) Golden giggles, it seemed she was still not thinking straight, "Well in that case, I shall have the same as you then. Oh and white please?" She looks around more, smiling, "You go here often Silver?" She most certainly had not been here before~!
Snow sighed and hung her head, "Because that's how long I have before my vacation ends. Whatever I do, I have to do it in the next week, or this opportunity will be lost..." Snow muttered
The waiter brought Snow's meal and left just as suddenly as he had arrived. Nightshade took advantage of the momentary distraction to ponder the problem. Her mind churned with ideas and schemes, each more ridiculous than the last. Eventually, she had to admit the truth of the matter. "I... I have no idea how you can pull that off. I've never really given this kind of thing much thought. I wouldn't even know where to begin..."
"Not really, as I never have anyone to go with. I've only been one other time and that was with Cheerilee and some other teachers for a special dinner." She smiled as the waiter brought two bottles. Pouring them into the respective glasses. "Can I just say. You look absolutely stunning." Silver was too engrossed with Golden too notice Snow Mark and Nightshade on the table right to the left on them.
Gold blinked at the compliment, smiling, she didn't get those often, then again, she was usually in her shop all day... "Thank you Silver~ You are quite a looker yourself!" She was trying to think of a compliment to say back, other than her quick reply, but she just couldn't think one up! "Hmm, well at least you still go out here... even if it is just a teacher's event" She looks around more, still amazed she was even here!
"Thanks. So how did you learn to craft such gorgeous jewelry. I wouldn't be surprised if Rarity bought some to complement her dresses. Though her dresses are way out of my price range." Silver sounded relaxed and comfortable around Golden something she hadnt felt since she had a girlfriend back when she was 14. She then knew she was the one. She may have been slightly certain before but now she was 150% positive.
"Hmm, as a filly I was taught by a few, my Grandfather namely, of course, that is how I inherited his Jeweler's shop. He taught me the basics, a few others, mainly a teacher or two from other jeweler's gave me a few touching up peices of advice and the rest is self taught" She laughed lightly, "And Rarity's never been to my shop, she'd be buying from the top of the range Jewelers, such as the fine Canterlot goldsmiths. I'm hardly in her league. Though, if Rarity managed to visit my store just once, well... I bet my business would multiply in customers." She sighs, not like that would ever happen. Though she was happy, she got the chance to talk to another mare, at a fancy restaurant! She had to make it up to Silver sometime... but how?
Snow shrugged, "Neither do I. Now, this conversation never leaves this table. I'm lucky enough that the press leaves me alone here in Ponyville for the most part, but if rumors about potential relationships leak out..." Snow muttered, "Well...you know how the tabloids can get!"
Once Crimson had finished his song, he stood up and thanked the audience who had erupted into a rapturous applause. Unlike the other performers who eat backstage, he decided to take a dark and seemingly empty table near the end of the room to order something. It wasn't his style to eat backstage, he preferred getting to know his audience and spending time with them by being with them, to make them be on the same level he is. Once he hit a certain level of fame, this would stop happening to prevent his health and safety being at risk. Once he sat down, he called over a waitress and ordered some ramen.
Nightshade mumbled under her breath, "...Part of the reason I left Canterlot, rotten liars... I earned that posting, dammit..." She blushed, hoping that Snow hadn't heard her. "I've heard some horror stories about those gossip rags. More concerned with making a few bits than actually telling the truth."
As the musician finished his song, he was one of the first to clap his hooves. Slowly at first, still stunned by the music, then fairly. As the crowd's cheers died, he stopped. And then he saw him, going on a nearly table. That was his chance. He got up, and walked to the table. ''I'd like to thank you for tonight's music. You remembered me of a certain musician i've once heard of, when i was in Canterlot, wich's music helped me a lot.''
"Thank you for the compliment." Crimson replied. "I didn't perform in Canterlot for very long, had some family issues to take care of. Besides, I enjoy the comfort Ponyville has rather then the buzz of the capital. Either way, I'm glad to have entertained you."
Snow nodded to Nightshade, "Yea...The Tabloids forced me to move to Ponyville because of....reasons....about 8 years ago..." She said sadly, "Well...anyways...maybe we should start trying to think of finding us somepony for us!"
Nightshade laughed. "Sounds good. You know, it's almost too bad you're not into mares..." She sipped her drink, and continued. "...This would be much easier if there weren't so few bachelors in this town to begin with."
Snow shrugged, "Well...honestly...I have no idea..." She said quietly, "I'm so busy....I just don't know..." She said slowly, "And I didn't know there was not very many available stallions here..."
"It is a little weird, isn't it? The mares outnumber the stallions by at least five to one. Must be something in the water..." She paused, thinking about the rest of what Snow had said. "Wait... You don't know... you've never thought about? It's not exactly uncommon for two mares to..." She blushed, and stopped talking. She didn't want Snow to feel uncomfortable.
