The dragon snorted. "I don't pretend to know how ponies or... whatever it is you are, minds work!" Discord sighed. "We are draconequui, and we are not here to mock you, strangely..." He turned to Aborel. "I'm sure it won't be very difficult to find a couple of ponies who came across treasure from a dragon's hoard recently; they're probably still in a tavern somewhere, showing off." The dragon coughed slightly, and Discord groaned. "What?" "Well... it may actually have been a few years ago now..." Discord rubbed his face dramatically.
Aborel frowned. "wait, didn't you say it was a few decades ago, and that they were children at the time?" she said, looking at the dragon sideways
The dragon shrugged. "It is hard to tell exactly how long it's been... I haven't got any frame of reference." Discord rolled his eyes. "It matters not! I doubt there have been many dragon hoard thefts in the last few centuries, let alone decades."
"Well... it's been a literal age since I went outside, but I believe there was a town called... Ponyville? Yes, I think that was it..." "Ponyville?" Discord laughed, "We're going around in circles!"
Aborel giggled. "well, we don't really have much else to do, and this sounds interesting. to Ponyville?"
Discord chuckled and nodded. "Certainly!" He clicked his talons, and teleported them to the road into Ponyville, just outside Fluttershy's cottage. "Well... I suppose we'd better ask somepony who knows everything that goes on in this town, somepony that's been here for years, and somepony who won't simply ignore us because of my previous discretions." Discord said, tapping his chin. "Any ideas?"
Aborel frowned. "I think I've been in alternate version of here, and there one pony like that was Pinkie Pie" she said. "is she like that here too?"
"Pinkie?" Discord nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, she does seem to know a lot about other ponies, and at the very least, I have always found her entertaining." He chuckled, and started walking towards town. "She's usually to be found at Sugarcube Corner, I believe..."
"ooh, speaking of which...." Aborel said, snapping her fingers and conjuring a large cube of sugar, then ate it. ".......eh, not the best sugar I've ever conjured."
"thanks!" Aborel giggled, taking the figurine. she looked at it for a moment before nomming the head. "delicious! ah, we're here"
"Indeed," Discord said, snaking through the window of the cafe and surprising the two ponies enjoying cupcakes at a table beside it. He grinned at them, making one cupcake twice as big, and taking the other. "Pinkie?" He called, floating back to a standing position and taking a bite of the cupcake.
Pinkie came bouncing down the stairs as Aborel popped into the room. "oh, hi Discord!" she said. "what is it? and who is that?" she pointed towards Aborel
"Ah, Pinkie!" Discord said, grinning and sweeping her up in a tight hug, "It's Fluttershy; I decided she'd enjoy the opportunity to experience life as a draconequus for a while."
Pinkie looked at Aborel, confused. "Fluttershy? you're a draconequus now?" she said hesitantly. Aborel nodded.
Discord chuckled and put Pinkie back down, glad that Aborel was playing along. "Oh yes indeed, she's quite good at it! We're going to try some evil scheming next..." He smirked, rubbing his paw and claw together.
Pinkie looked more closely at Aborel, then back to Discord. "evil scheming? Fluttershy wouldn't do that! I'm not even sure that's really her....." she said suspiciously
"Are you saying I'm lying? Moi!?" Discord protested, pressing his paw to his chest in mock offence, "Why Pinkie, I'm shocked!" He held the pose for a few seconds, then floated over to her, chuckling. "I don't care what the others say, Pinkie; there are no flies on you! You can spot a lie from a mile away! A trait that will come in handy later in life, I'm sure; lies to play such havoc with morale..." He chuckled again, and floated back over to Aborel. "This is not, as you rightly suspected, Fluttershy, but rather my new friend, Aborel."
Pinkie looked at Aborel sideways. "your new friend? you found another draconequus?" she said, confused, and stumbling over draconequus slightly. Aborel grinned and waved. "hiya! it's nice to meet you!"
