So I've been interested in starting to make music, but I know oyu have to pay for Fl Studio, so I was wondering if there was anything else people used to make music that is computer based?

Next time, be more specific with the title - "A question" can refer to ANYTHING, and basically asking about Music and noting that in the title will get you musical people to help with the problem.

Linux MultiMedia Studio I think is a nice composing freeware. At least judging from the reviews and so forth. Personally, i've never used it, since i already own FL studio. If you want additional info, Google's your friend.

GarageBand? I did all my GCSE music coursework with it, and ended up with an A. It's a powerful program that should handle pretty much any basic music you want to make, but it's just that: basic. It's nowhere near the level of professional software, of which I know almost nothing about, sorry. But like Jaret said, Google I'd probably the best place to go for information like this.
