I've been working on something for more customization for creation, since I've been noticing how characters generally end up starting off weaker than a peasant. Though, Students do start off with a little magic for the sole purpose of possibly learning magic.
Speaking of spells, I'm not sure what spells Mystic had on the TvTropes signup, but I think she was mostly support, right?
I was hammering out the details of the shield this past weekend, and here's what I came up with (since it seems it'll come into play). Questions? My reasoning is it takes more effort to protect multiple targets, so naturally you have to roll higher. If you roll a natural 100, you will succeed automatically, no matter the number of targets.
Seems good. Is it just "defensive magic", or is it an actual barrier? It does make a difference, because with defensive magic, I can only protect my allies. With a barrier, I can encase a monster or a pony and hold them in one spot, or I can keep somepony from exiting or entering a room, etc. Well, at least until they break through the barrier. I'm just gonna hazard a guess and say that it's defensive magic though. ^^
@ PsychoPunk - There's nothing to be sorry about. Niether you or your character had any indication that the spell didn't have a name. It's fine, really.
So...I was reading over the RP again, and I found something that kinda terrified me: Then later, :ahh: That was not intentional.
