Luna grabbed a map of Equestria, then pointed at Ponyville. "We have reason to believe there is somepony after an amulet of great value to Pegasi. It is currently looked after by a pony named Dark Shine."
"What about him? And why didn't you get Dark Loght, or even my husband to do this? They're both vastly more qualified than I am to secretly secure an item of great value." Snow said.
Luna shook her head. "We do not know who said thief would be, and we do not wish to cause alarm." The doors opened again, to reveal the pony messanger from before. "Princess, your message has been sent." Princess Luna appeared a bit miffed. "Night, I never asked for a letter to be sent. Are thou sure it was us?" The pony called Night smiply nodded, then wandered off.
Luna looked back to Snow. "Thou hast proven that thou can be trusted. Also, thou are reported to have been seen near Dark Shine not too long ago."
"Oh yes, I was helping clean his house after it got struck by lightning, and I didn't see any amulet."
Luna seemed to smile. "That means two things. Either he lost it, or he is guarding it extremley well. The amulet itself is a necklace of two Pegasi forming a Yin and Yang."
"Strange, since his cutie mark is a ying-yang symbol." Snow said,"So why do you want me to retrieve this amulet?"
"Oh, ok. I'll make sure to keep an eye on it. But wait, isn't Ponyville part of the Capital region? Why don't I just ask Dark to station guards near his house to keep an eye on it 100% of the time? She is the Master Protector, after all."
"If you want, I can let Dark guard there, but Dark Shine has also heard of this threat of theft and so is being very cautious." Luna pointed to several spots in ponyville. "Dark Shine lives several places in Ponyville. His main one is a cloud. Then, he lives in the branches of the library, amonst the leaves. He also has a house on the other side of ponyville."
Almost immediatly after Snow finished speaking, Night and some guards appeared. "These guards will take you back home. Or you can walk. Your choice. Good luck in your mission, Snow." He walked off with a few guards and Luna. The other guards motioned to the courtyard, where a chariot awaited.
Snow waves them off, "It's fine, I can get home myself. I'm a skilled teleporter." her horn lit up and with a flash, she appeared in her house in Ponyville. She collapsed on the couch next to her exhausted, "I'll make sure that this thief doesn't get near that amulet." she said. (Woot! Senior member now!)
(Gratz! ) There was a noise outside of Snows house, in the direction of Dark's house. The noise was of something breaking. "Oops. Hehehe! I'll fix that in a minute."
Snow walked went towards the noise, activating her aura detection spell. She could see an extremely deep purple aura from outside her house going towards Darkshine's house. She burst through her door yelling in the direction of the unknown pony, "STOP RIGHT THERE!"
Dark Shine was there, next to a second Pony. The purple one from before. "Hi Snow! What you yelling at?"
Snow shook her head, "Sorry, I was just caught off guard, not used to aura's I don't know around my house." she said as her eyes changed from a purple back to their regular blue, "So whats up?"
Dark shrugged. "This is my friend Night. Him and me went to Royal Guard Cadets together. He was the only one who didn't mock me for my lack of flight at the time." Night smiled. "He sure is right there! Unfortunatly he got kicked out, but we kept in touch. He got a job here and I managed to become a messanger. I'm just helping him by delivering some stuff to his sisters shop in Canterlot."
Snow nodded, "Uh huh. Well, ok then." I have to find this thief before he finds the amulet! Snow thought, "So what are you doing around my house?"
Dark Shine looked to Snow, then Night. "The route he takes is around your house. Sorry. I promise, if anything breaks it'll be my house!" He seemed a bit more Jolly than normal.
