"Oh Goddammit!" Hunter cursed, hurrying to shut the door before any guards wandered in upon this bizarre spectacle. "What the hell did you do!?" He demanded, untying the woman. "Can't you see that Dr... um," He looked at her, unsure of her name. "Dr. Li," She said, obviously very shaken up. "That Dr. Li here doesn't appreciate this kind of treatment?" Hunter continued, glaring at Jake.
"Yes...uhm, don't get mad Aldo but....uuuh the treatment she doesnt like is the radioactive one..." Jaje laughed quitely. He still took cover, "don't hurt me...." He still coward, "please..."
"The radioactive-" Hunter wheeled on Jessie "Goddammit! All your friends are crazy!" He turned back to Dr. Li. "I'm very sorry about this; is there anything we can do?" "You? No." Dr. Li said, looking up from her workbench. "We specialize in cleaning up radiation here, so I should be able to sort out any damage he's done." She glared at Jake. "But there will be repercussions for him; this is unacceptable."
"Already ahead of you!" Jake screamed as he was some-how already at the Lab's Exit, He then ran away quickly, "I just wanted to see what Radiation can do to someone! Besides...turning 'em to a Ghoul...or giving 'em a third hand...or something." Jake said as he got to the bridge, He stopped himself after he saw a few Guards in front of the Bridge Jessie, Hunter, And Li in back of the Bridge, "Nope..." Jake said as he jumped off the bridge and into the water, "SORRY!" Jake screamed as he hit the water "Also...He isn't crazy...this is the first time he has actually done anything like this..." Jessie thought to herself for a bit as she starred at Jake as he started to swim away, "Why do I feel like...James did this..." (Because you know...James starts every conflict :l)
Hunter shook his head as this fresh madness ensued, then turned to Li. "Again, I'm very sorry about that, I though he seemed more... normal. But anyway, we did come back to report the destruction of the cloning lab and most of the clones, and also that the Enclave seemed to interested in it for some reason."
"He is normal...Its just the things he does, isn't normal..." Jessie mumbled to Hunter as they walked. Just as they were talking Jessie herd a Familiar voice, She walked towards the Exit of the lab, She then herd the sound of death outside She went to investigate as she got out she saw a gun pointed at her Face, "I know what you're wondering...why am I here?" James asked, "Well...I wanted to kill you and...Him...before I leave this Rachet Waste-land and I bring my chaos into Pitts-burg in which I am king...I herd that a little girl can cure...radiation poison...So thats for me! So...sorry I have to do this but you-know...Its nothing personal, Bye..." He went to pull the trigger but Jessie quickly grabbed his gun and pulled it away from him and she kicked him away, making him fall into the floor, Jessie ran towards Hunter, "WE HAVE TO GO!" Jessie screamed as she was in the Entrance, "He's here!" Jessie said as she looked back, seeing James run towards her, Jessie closed the door quickly, "LETS GO NOW!" Jessie said running away from the door.
"No." Hunter said, flipping a table for cover and unslinging his rifle; he was glad Harkness had allowed him to keep it this time. He glanced at Jessie as he took up a firing position behind the table. "I'm not running from him; he needs to be dealt with on way or another." Hunter fired low as James burst into the room, blasting away a sizeable chunk of his left shin, and causing him to collapse. "Do I have your attention!?" He called out.
James didn't answer, he only layed in the floor, "you there James...?" Jessie asked as she starred at James' body. Nothing was herd, Jessie didn't want to get closer to James' body, so she just starred at it for a bit. And then....boom, an explosion in rivet city was heard, as large enclave verti-bird are heard outside, "we don't have Time for this" Jessie said pulling out her plasma rifle, she shot James' a couple of times until being sure he's dead, "nooow...we leave?" She asked hunter.
"I guess," Hunter said, looking at James' body with mild confusion. "Didn't that seem a little anticlimactic to you?" Another explosion rocked the ship. "Right; a question for another day. I'm gonna see if I can't find Harkness though, I ain't just gonna let Rivet City get destroyed; there are few enough places for decent folk to live around here as it is. You can come with me or not, I'd appreciate help, but no hard feelings if not. " He stood next to the corridor to the security office waiting for Jessie to make her decision.
"I'll follow you...because I'm not gonna die, next to him..." Jessie starred at James' corps, "let's go, help.." Jessie said following hunter.
As they entered the security office, Harkness was barking out orders. "What's going on? Any way we can help?" Hunter inquired. Harkness looked at him, as if weighing him up. "We're under attack from Enclave Vertibirds; The Brotherhood are on their way from the Citadel, but we've got to hold them off until they can arrive. We had almost got the ship's original air defences up and running again, but they still need a little more work; can you escort the repair teams as they calibrate the guns and launchers?"
"We can do that, Yes..." Jessie said starring at him, "And what about your friend thats behind you?" Harkness asked starring at James, "What frie-" Jessie starred back at James who is pointing a gun at us, "This friend..." James said laughing as he readies his gun.
"I knew that was too anticlimactic," Hunter said, turning around to look at James. As he turned, he drew his revolver and got off two shots; one in James' other leg, and one in his right arm.
James just tried to stand, but was failing, he the fell into his kness, "I'll kill you all.." James said as he coughed up small amounts of blood, he tried getting up again only to fail again and finally on the floor again. This time, he's really dead.
Hunter sighed. "So passes a complicated man." James' death brought him no pleasure, but it seemed to him to be necessary. "We couldn't of helped him; it was him or us right?" He looked to Jessie for reassurance.
"I-I guess..." Jessie said, she was confused, but then she sighed and went to to help the repair team, "we have to kill the soldiers outside" Jessie said as she readied her gun.
"Yeah." Hunter wasn't in the mood for any frivolities or unnecessary talk; he just wanted to get this fighting over with as quickly as possible; he was tired of all this killing and destruction. He pulled a bottle of whiskey out of his pack as they headed to the first defence node and took a long drink. It helped a little. Hunter, Jessie, and a couple of Rivet City guards set up a defensive perimeter around the repair team as they got to work, and managed to suppress the hail of fire coming from the Vertibirds in the air and the troopers on the river bank. Hunter's bottle was steadily depleting as they kept the repair team whole.
"Are you guys almost done?!" Jessie screamed as multiple shots were fired at them, Jessie went to reload and then continued to shoot at enclave verti-birds, then more came, and then more.
A volley of rockets fired over their heads and took out a whole wing of vertibirds, as if to answer her question. This node was up and running. "This side should be able to fend for itself, we just need to activate the node on the Port side now!" One of the engineers yelled over the cacophony. They had lost one of the guards, and Hunter was halfway through his second bottle and staggering by the time they made it to the second node.
~"Come on...where are BoS?!"~ Jessie thought to herself as she went to fend off more Engineers, just as they were defending the back, a verti-bird parked in back of them, And a man in a Red Enclave Hell-fire power armor, and James' Sword with the 10mm pistol in it, the man hopped off the verti-bird as it left, Jessie starred back to see that it was Johnny, Johnny shot lots of the repairer's heads, and then he quickly shot Hunter's back multiple times (Not fully killing him), and then he shot at Jessie's shoulder pad as the bullet comes out from the opposite side, "Miss me?" he smiled, as he walked towards them.
