And what is it that draws you in? I've certainly never had the urge to try any of that stuff. No one wakes up and just says "today I'm gonna do heroin" if they use it they more then likely know the risks. I'd of course like them to get help to break their addiction. But they should have never touched it to start with.
I'll more or less agree on this. It's an admittedly stupid way to cope, but then again so is many other coping mechanisms. However this isn't my point. I too would love to see people break free of their addiction, but my point is that it's even more difficult when you have the same people being told to go die for making that initial stupid decision; it makes them less inclined to even go ask for help in the first place.
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, I'm too lazy to check from my phone, but Ridley and Sparky I believe. To some extent at least, it was something about dying for the sake of evolution if I recall.
True, and that goes for every drug. However, as much as someone may know of the risks it is not something they can truly understand or comprehend until it actually happens.
Ah. Yes. I see it now. I'm not gonna say they are wrong. I don't agree with letting people do and everything though. Help me if you can. So you're saying its worse. Then why do it. If you have a crappy day a drug isn't gonna fix it. It just makes crap even harder.
Actually, I see drug addicts as perfect examples of the physical, emotional, and mental weakness that plagues the human race. "Survival of the fittest" is the law of nature. It ensures that only those creatures strong enough to survive the perils of the wild will reproduce. As a result, the species is strengthened. Just imagine how far humanity could advance if we followed the law of of nature.
I don't believe Ridley said let them die with no help. At least based on what you quoted. People have choices, no one forces people to use drugs. (Maybe with modeling and crap) My friends dad died of a heroine overdose. Who made the choice to do it. He did. A simple way to avoid addiction is to never touch it to begin with. Example. Bob "hey man, you want some smack" Steve "nah, that crap is bad yo" And now Steve is safe.
Zeph seems to be implying that everyone will eventually be forced to use illegal drugs somehow. We did up until a point.
If you put it that way. When I hear survival of the fittest, I think of those with common sense to not screw up. Like the people that get Darwin awards. Not mentally fit obviously. Their removal isn't that bad. Choices have consequences. Back in school a kid got drunk at a party and got himself killed. I get labeled as a jerk because I wasn't sad and crying over it. He choose to drink, him and his friends allowed him access to his keys. He made his choice.
Yeah because it's a choice. And it would not have happened to me. Several reasons why. I put as much room between me a drugs as possible. I know the risks to it. And other junk similar to that. No one made him drink. It was a bad choice brought on by who knows what. Obviously he wasn't mentally fit enough to think it though.
They are not "less fortunate." They are the products of an environment that should never have existed in the first place. A child that is raised by unfit parents will almost always grow up to be unfit, themselves. They then have children of their own, who also grow up to be unfit. It's a vicious cycle, and one that weakens the human race as a whole.
By using the term "unnecessary deaths," you prove your ignorance of the concept of survival of the fittest. Only the strong survive. By extension, this means that the weak will die. Is it unpleasant? Of course it is.
Crap. I just realized how crazy I must sound to everbody right now. I assure you, I am quite sane. I'm just naturally cruel and unsympathetic, which is something that I usually try to not let spread to my EP posts. Maybe it would be best if I abandoned this thread for awhile.
That is not being cruel and unsympathetic because of your mental state, you're doing it for the sake of it. I'm emotionally dead, except for teh ladies, and I don't act like that in my posts. Back on track, I do honestly believe that for someone to get addicted to a substance they have to have something not stable within their mind. I know a lot of people (myself included), who can enjoy both without having to get the spoon and lighter out at the end of the night. You'll tend to find, in England, the main culprits of Class A's are the Burberry sporting plebs who stand on street corners with a 0.99p bottle of cider. And I'm sure any member of here from Blighty will tell you that they aren't the most mentally stable people around.
