    I think one of the big problems, assuming aliens exist and they have a more advanced civilization, is that we are screwed if they are anything like us. A quick glance through human history shows that we are not the nicest of species. That and well, if you could avoid all the arguments and politics and such, you probably would. I guess I'm just afraid that they wouldn't like us.

    I rarely read opening posts. I'm lazy, my apologies.
    Well, my opinion is... Meh. If they exist, and we have had contact with them, then I am ok with that.
    At the same time, if we have and the government(s) aren't telling us, then it's probably for the best to prevent widespread panic etc.
    Otherwise, if we haven't contacted aliens, then maybe we shouldn't. Y'know, threat of another species taking over as the dominant species, the human race potentially being wiped out... Now I sound stereotypical of what people think aliens will do. But it's my opinion, anyway.
