It appears that the most of you dislike the usual shonen anime protagonists. I don't like characters that are idiots like Naruto. It gets stale after a while, and I guess the same can be said for Natsu from Fairy Tail. I was watching Star Driver, and I was so happy when I saw that Takuto isn't a mega derp. Not to mention that boy is pretty cute.
I was curious and typed the name into google, I loved the look of the art style and I can deal with a lot of mary sue/ gary stu types so I started watching the Uta no Prince sama anime, and I love it! Her character isn't wearing on me yet, yeah she gets a ton of attention from all of the super hawt guys in skewl but the art, and the music, and Haruka's hot friend and the BOYS. DEAR GOD they're so UNF. Thanks for peaking my curiosity. :3
Orihime from Bleach. On paper, she sounds a lot like Fluttershy, really. She's kind, sweet, attentive to her friends, timid and a little bit of a doormat. However, while Fluttershy has been known to dig deep and actually kick some flank when required, Orihime Inoue is ridiculously useless for the entirety of the show. During the events of the show, she gains powers by just being around Ichigo, a friend of hers that has been leaking spiritual power like radiation because he's a stupidly powerful Shinigami (a magic, ghost samurai that acts like a Grim Reaper, trafficking souls to the afterlife). She gains the ability to command tiny fairies (yes, in the world of magic sword fights and energy explosions, this isn't that weird) that can summon shields, heal wounds and one of them specialises in attacking back. Her healing powers are vaguely explained as centering around the idea that she is denying the existence of that wound and reversing it as a result. Yes, she has the power of denial which manifests itself as fairies. I guess they go hand in hand? The issue comes with how she uses her powers and deals with battles. While Chad, another guy that discovered he had magic demon arms from soaking up Ichigo's spirit mojo, uses his powers to become a pretty powerful force even to the Shinigami. Orihime uses her powers to heal wounds and that's it. While healing is useful in this show, she doesn't do anything else! Even when cornered, she will not fight back. She'll throw up shields and cower. She even gives herself up to the bad guys in one arc because they tell her to and she just does it! Without trying to do anything to help her situation. She just sits tight and does as she's told. I know the Arrancar are dangerously powerful but nothing at all? No notes or messages of any kind? And that then means they have to go and find her. There's plenty of points where she fails to defend herself. Against Hollows, against Rukia one time. Outside of healing, she has no importance to the characters. I get it, not all characters have to be badasses. But she just isn't an interesting character. She has barely any backbone and rarely looks to defend herself. She has the means to accurately incapacitate an enemy and never does. There have been entire battles she's taken part in and never did she attempt to even support someone in a fight. She's irritating in her wasted space!
I know, and when you get to Season Two, you'll learn stuff that you didn't knew about Starish. When I first looked into it, I was pretty much hooked. LOVED the music, art direction(Thank Chuggaaconroy), and the boys. GOT DANG they're hot, and believe me, it's easy to love all of them.
My favourite is blondie right nao (Ren) I'm a sucker for the salacious long haired ego maniacs. One thing about the main character I do like is Harukas design! Her voice is whiny and irritating, but that's just typical cute girl japanese voice acting for you. As long as she doesn't gain some magical super ability and become a special snowflake I think I can grasp the concept of her positive characteristics. The season 1 ending is amazing and cheesy but I love it. "DOKI DOKI de kowaresou 1000%* LOVE HEY!!" (Hides in the corner with shame)
Any character from an anime, or any tv show really but it's primarily Japanese entertainment, which is insane and uses it as a medium to make them look cool. You have no idea how much it pisses me off.
Luckily, she doesn't, but she does break someone's curse. And I love that ending too, you are not alone. And ah Ren, he's a total player, but he's a charming boy that isn't annoying. Unlike several others....
Just watched the Episode where Natsuki become 'Satsuki' WOW. Insta hot. He needs to keep those glasses off. :I Ah, Cecil. Very adorable. C: Ichinose is becoming less annoying at the Summer camp. He was beginning to irritate me. But now I'm liking him better now. ^-^
Ah, Maki. I love that show. One of the funniest anime I have EVER seen. Not a fan of the English name, though, so I prefer to stick with "Seto no Hanayome", which translates to "Bride of Seto." I dunno, that just sounds better to me. And this is not relevant in any way. Carry on then.
