The Secret World is an MMORPG that was released last year. I was part of the closed beta for it, and I thought even the beta was incredible. Dark, mysterious, atmospheric, and with a variety of gameplay deviations from the standard WoW-clone model that I found fascinating; it was love at first sight. However, they ticked me off when they decided to change the models of my two favorite characters at the last minute, in such a way that everything I liked about those characters was nullified, so I never ended up buying it. Now that it's been almost a year and they've dropped the subscription fee (current pay model slogan is "Pay once.
