Well she did lack the Hat at a young age, but she had the tail band (If I remember correctly), perhaps that's it
Actually, she seem'd pretty weak when she used that "cultivated" accent. Maybe it's her accent that makes her so strong, combined with her freckles? Maybe that hairband has something to do with it as well....
Maybe whatever gives Applejack her powers will forever be a mystery, and we'll never know for sure. Who knows?
Yes combined it seems to build up the power. The catalyst seems to be her determination and spirit. Thats why I love Applejack >_< yay...
lol I think a lot of those things, coupled with her strong, loyal, and good old-fashioned hard-working attitude is what give Applejake her appeal. Every pony has a certain audience that they are meant to be relative to. Applejacks targeted audience are country ponies. Hard-working, honest, determined and maybe a little rough around the edges.
And here I am thinking she got her strength from Combines. But I see where you could be getting at with the apparel/physical features giving her power.
Don't you think AJ could be a symbol, an icon, a face of communism? She's honest, just and hardworking. And she wears red hair bands...
Not all things communist are related to the color red. And I doubt every last communist is honest. Honesty is something that's not as common as desired in a large group of people. There's got to be at least a few dishonest communists out there. In short: I doubt she's a symbol of Communists/Communism.
My third favourite pony due to like with Rarity her being someone I didn't expect to like. I like how she is down to earth (lol Earth Pony) and practical, her work ethic is a quality I wish I had. She is often one of the most hilarious ponies.
Applejack is good pony as well, hard working and, well sometimes stubborn, hehe. but there's something good in her as in everypony

When i first began to watch the show, i didn't like Applejack, Pinkie Pie, or Twilight Sparkle very much. I thought Twilight was a bit too much of a know-it-all for me. Pinkie was too spazzy and girly. I would just be like, "UHHHH, SHE NEVER SHUTS UUUUUP." And i didn't really like Applejack, because she was stubborn and i often don't like characters with "southern" qualities. However, the more i watched the show the more i came to love EACH AND EVERY one of the mane cast enormously. Especially Applejack. I didn't really know why, but the things i didn't like about her suddenly became what i loved about her. Her accent makes me laugh, i envy her hard-working nature, and i admire her never-faltering determination. And i also think her kindness towards everypony is quite adorable. When she calls ponies "Sugarcube". ^^ She has recently become one of my three favourite ponies (along with Rarity and Fluttershy). :3
Oh Man, Applejack is my All time favorite. She reminds of me since i come from a southern-like family and love to work hard and We own a large portion of land of 10 acres that we call it a "Ranch" but my father is trying so hard to turn it into a farm. Being a earth pony, doesn't stop her at anything, even tho she is limited on what she can do. Love her voice. I could listen to her voice, all day, if i could.
She's done the same as Rarity. At first, I didn't really like her. Now, I think she's brilliant. Also, this face is just the best.
aj takes the cake because she is strong, ignorant(sometimes), and dont call me wierd but kinda cute. im a *squee!*in wierdo
