Thanks, wasn't quite sure which place to put this! And I am actually going into my first year of Highschool so i probably shouldn't be too outgoing with it, I'm not changing my awesome Ipod Rainbow Dash and Kamina crossover, but i guess haters gonna hate, so just gonna have to live with em.
No, I really can't without massive social outcasting. Think, a football player liking my Little Pony, no, I can't, espically with my kind of family.
Join the club, I played football for a season, then quit to focus solely on academics. I can understand that SnowM, you'd be a laughing stock, especially if your football team is anything like the one at our school...
Yea, with my family, I have to keep my two figures, a Applejack and a Cheerilee hidden, something I feel terrible for. (Don't ask me why, I just do.)
I would too, but I can't even get one into my possession, so all i have to hide is my youtube history... With as sneaky I'm being about it, I'm afraid my parents are gonna get the wrong idea x.x
If skipping through a shopping centre in April singing "Winter Wrap Up" at the top of my voice - telling all my friends, family, teachers, and most people I come across that I'm a brony - going to meet-ups - buying blindbags and other pony merch on my own or with friends and family - having MLP posters hung up in my room - wearing a brony shirt everywhere I go where there's a lot of people - and linking my friends the coolest videos of ponies I find is outgoing, Then yes. Yes I am.~
Yes, I trusted my friends with this a long time ago. My mother and sisters know and is cool with it, even though my sister do tease me a little. My mother did tell my aunts about it also and they have no problem either it seems. Only my dad have not been told but I don't hide it from him anymore, he must have seen my pony desktop background by now and he has not mentioned it so I honestly don't think he cares. So, I do have it good. What really pisses me of is how bigoted some people seem to be, any parent who would disown thier own child or try to "fix" him or her based on a tv show they watch or their sexuality is not worthy of even having children in my opinion. In my opinion there i no surer sign that holding a falable source as infalable is not only wrong, but could be downright dangerous. This is especially true with christians and homosexuality, intolerance of something a person is born with and cannot change will only cause suffering in this world. This is why christianity must start to preach against homophobia to counter this evil, a religion can only change from within so the task falls upon the hands of believers to combat the flaws of their own religion. I am an idealist, so I will not rest for as long as injustice exists in the world. This extends to us bronies, something as good as liking ponies should be embraced by all, instead, we are cast out like we were freaks, just for believing in love and tolerance instead of hatred and bigotry. This alone is a sign that the world is corrupt beyond belief, and could need a shining light to get them on the right track, this light being ponies or something else.
That was deep, I agree though, for the pony related parts anyways, but yeah, people shouldnt need to care about what other people watch. I wish we lived in a world where bronies weren't criticized about enjoyin mlp. I have come to a descision. Screw Them. I own my own world and my own mind, if i wanna buy mlp merchandise I will, nobody gonna stop me from doin it.
Most people could care less what gays do in private. Being called a "hater" because they hold opposing views is the real problem for most. In reality it has nothing to do with their sexuality.
In the interest of keeping this thread more on-topic, I responded to your post here: http://www.everypony.com/forums/showthread.php?1523-The-Gay-Thread/page77&highlight=Thread
I where a shirt to the library everyday but Sunday. The route is one mile, going through all kinds of ghetto. And the shirt has all six ponies on it, with the caption: "MuthaF%$#n Proud"... I'm pretty outgoing...
I'm not outgoing in general, but I'm sort of "neutral" on showing off that I like MLP. Three of my friends know, my mum knows, and that's about it. And those people either don't care, or at worst just playfully bust my chops about it. I have a Fluttershy shirt, but I haven't worn it yet, I'm debating on it. I don't try to purposely hide being a brony (unless it's a situation where I know showing it will end badly), but I also don't go out of my way to shove it in people's faces. If it comes up in conversation or people just happened to notice, then no big deal. I'm at the point where I don't really care either way. I'm the same way with ponies as I am with anything else I'm a fan of, really. The only person that I do shove it in their face, is one of my close mates, and I only do it to mess with him. He jokes with me about my liking ponies, and I "retaliate" by constantly talking about ponies. It's all in good fun.
Well I told my older brother, my parents, my girlfriend, her two sisters, her parents and my best friend.
I don't really care if my friends know, a couple of em think the shows actually pretty good (Most people would if they'd try it out) but I'm afraid of tellin my dad, he can be very critical. And even my younger sister thought my ipod pony wallpaper was weird.
Friends? Those things I don't have? Just kidding. I'm not very open about it. My close friends know, but the less leverage my peers have on me the better. Well, I would wear a shirt or something but the trouble is getting my parents to let me go somewhere they have them >.< That and I'm a muscular defensive lineman and finding shirts that fit aight in the shoulders is difficult. As for telling your dad Vegeta... I don't know him very well (I've heard him over a skype call I think?) but from your description you should probably dramatize the show a little bit.. or go all out and make peace with him not going to like it.
