"So, may I ask your names?" Marcus asked. The green and golden opened her mouth to speak, "My name is-" she stopped when Carmon walked in front of her, "Vein Lotus, and my friends name is Gold Dust." 'Wow, who in the hell names their own kids?' 'I know, these names are completely lame.' 'Dude, they look cute though, you should bone them later tonight!' 'WHAT?! No, I don't even know them!' 'I know your attracted to them.' Marcus began to speak again with a fake smile, "So, what are you two doing out so late?'
Carmon stopped after a couple of circles and leaned against the wall, watching them as if she were unamused though that was a lie. She smirked at their names and continued eyeing them.
"We were taking a midnight stroll, but-" Lotus was interrupted by Gold Dust, "But then those Changlings attacked us, we should have listened to Zaruenth." Marcus looked at them as his smile disappeared, "C- Can you say that name again?" "Zaruenth, he conquered all of Equestria with his armada of Corruptoran. He single handedly enslaved most of the ponies, and turned Princesses Celestia, Luna, Cadence, and Twightlight into his personal slaves. All of Equestria turned into nothing but chaos, and Discord-" "Can you please wait a second?" Marcus said. he got up and quickly walked outside, angered and confused.
Carmon groaned and followed Marcus after saying something to the ponies "He tends to have a lot of anger..." she smiled and walked out, frowning. "Those things were talking gibberish, whats making you mad?" She asked.
"No, they were talking english." Marcus closed his eyes, trying to come up with reasons of why HE was still alive. "Zaruenth, the decaying god. In my world, he committed mass genocide on all living organisms. As the Contractor, I took the bounty. When we fought, not letting up at all. He was the reason my parents were dead. A space station known for destruction was called the A21 satellite. We fought there for the last time, everyone aboard was dead, and the station was about to blow. We were half dead, but kept fighting. Finally, I stabbed him through the heart, and then, everything went white, and then black. And I woke u-" Marcus eyes opened real wide when he finally realized how he got there.
"You woke up and came here" Carmon finished him "Hey, my parents are dead too! They were pushed off a sharp cliff..." She thought about what she said "Is that normal to die that way?" She asked
Marcus looked at Carmon, towering over he by at least four feet. He looked at her worriedly, "No I died in an explosion. I don't know, do you believe in second chances? Because I now know I died. But then, I awoken here with some of my gear. I died, but yet, somehow I'm beginning to think that this was no accident. What was the last thing you remembered before you cam here?"
Carmon stopped smiling "Crimson, the color of crimson" Her voice was grave "Second chances? I only believe it for those who earn it" she stared at him
"I killed a god that would have tore my earth apart. But, if he's here, then I was summoned for a reason. He is far more powerful than I am, I was just lucky that I stabbed him." Marcus looked up at the sky, "His real name is Joseph Cline."
Carmon remained frozen as flashbacks of crimson blood splattered across the ground. She turned away and scowled because him reminding her.
"Zaruenth is my brother, sadly," Marcus said, "His name was Joseph Cline, the youngest out of the family. He was physically and mentally depressed and disturbed. The UNSC allowed me to visit my family, but the last time I visited, there was no family at all. Joseph died using a resurrection ritual and slitting his wrists. He thought I was dead. but it was mom and dad that told him that. They always thought that I was a bad example on him, so, they took that approach. I found them stabbed to death, and thats when I found Joseph in the back yard. I rushed out to see if he was alive, but-." Marcus remembered what happened that day, "Never mind, we should get back to those civvies."
"Yeah..." Carmons voice was dark as she walked in the cave with a bit of spite. Her eyes had pure hatred in them as she did so.
Marcus returned to the two mares with a forced smile on his lips, "So ladies, let's get to where we stopped, exactly where is your home?" They both looked at each other, "Ponyville, it's not far from here. Just a mile away, why?" Lotus asked. "And where does Zaruenth spend his time?" Marcus asked. "He spends most of his time in Ponyville, he has a large throne chair in the middle of town." Marcus grew an evil smile across his face, "Lets pay him a visit, shall we?"
Carmon looked fierce, she had been ignoring Marcus. "Mind if I stay here?" She mumbled though her voice audible to him.
"I'm not going anywhere without you partner. If I get a shot a Zaruenth again, then I will need your help. But, it's only 2 A.M., you should get some shut eye. I'll be setting up a motion turret to guard us during tonight, and I'll be in the back experimenting." Marcus said. He could tell Carmon was bothered about something, "You know, I'm not like other men, you can tell me what's wrong if you wish."
"Im fine" She mumbled and sat down on the hard floor. "Just tired" She easily lied to him and turned away.
Marcus sighed and went to the back of the armory, grabbing a quick turret. He had sat it up right outside the cave and put a silencer on it, so noise would not be created. He then closed the door that led to the armory and sat down against the wall. 'After all of this time, why would my brother be here?' 'Maybe for revenge, I mean come on Dufus, you know for a fact he is hell bent on killing any living thing.' 'I just wish I didn't have to kill him again.' He went back to his spot, sat against the wall next to the two mares and fell asleep, still alarmed if anything got past the small defense.
Carmon drifted to sleep and her dreams were most peoples nightmares, but this time it was her nightmare... her parents had been killed by being forced of a cliff by a distorted creature that she killed afterwords. Her siblings had died as there was a fire in their city. That was all she could remember.
(8:26 A.M.) Marcus could feel some source of heat on both of his arms. He woke up only to find the two mares snuggling up against him tightly. "Ummm..." 'Dude, nows your chance.' 'Why would I do that?' 'Because-' Another voice had kicked in, but it seem smarter and more... polite, 'And exactly WHY would he do that?' 'Oh come on, he wants to get laid.' 'No I don't.' 'Yes you do.' Marcus shifted enough to escape the grasp of the two mares, and walked outside. The turret was on a low charge, enough to last at least five more minutes. Marcus went back into the cave, and activated the door leading to the small armory. He looked around to if there was anything useful. He found an armor changing station, used to put armor on Spartans. He activated it and saw the armor. It was mainly black with a little bit of green markings. He stood on the panel and pressed the button. The arms on the machine took pieces of armor as Marcus put on a really tight jump suit with armor plating in it. As he finished, he pressed a blue button, and the arms on the machine began to put armor all over his body.
Carmon hadn't been disturbed by Marus's movements, her mind wouldn't let her escape her 'dreams' until she was woken. She sighed in her sleep and continued to lay still on the floor.
