Blackout glared at his father with undisguised hatred. The old stallion had obviously been planning this for a long time. He sighed. His father had won. Like it or not, Blackout was a slave owner now. "Fine, you old bastard. You win. Now get the buck out of my room!" As his father left the room, laughing, Blackout looked at Heart Song. "I am sorry that you are being used as a pawn in his sick game, and I am even more sorry that I am too much of a coward to stand up to him. Did he hurt you?" Heart Song looked at her new master fearfully. She sensed a tremendous amount of rage within him, but none of it was directed at her. She relaxed slightly. "He hit me a few times, Master, but it was nothing serious. I'm still able to work." She took a step forward, and Blackout could see blood running down her front leg. His father had obviously kicked her. "Please, call me Blackout, You look exausted. Run yourself a bath, and I'll find you some bandages for you leg." He left the room and went downstairs. Several minutes later, Heart Song (or as she was known to her fellow Changelings, Cricket), lowered herself into the warm water of the bathtub. She cursed her own short-sightedness in choosing to take the form of an Earth Pony. After a disagreement with the Queen, she had been banished from the Hive. She had wandered, alone and hungry, for several months before she came upon an Earth Pony stallion weeping over the body of his wife. The unfortunate mare had fallen down a hill and broken her neck. After waiting for the stallion to fall asleep, she hastily hid the body of his late wife and took her form. Mad from grief, he had accepted her without question. Cricket, now known as Heart Song, soon learned that the stallion and his wife had been slaves, before escaping into the mountains. For nearly a year, she and her "husband" had lived a peaceful life. Until the slavers came. She and the stallion were caught, drugged, and taken to separate holding cells to await sale. The collar that had been placed around her neck, enchanted to break the will of the slave, had kept her from returning to her true form. Even after the collar had been removed, she was too weak from months of hunger to transform. Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Heart Song? I found some bandages. When you are finished in there, I would like to take a look at your leg."
(Lawl. Tl;dr.) Narrowleaf sighed and rubbed his own back. "Ugh... D-Damn whips hurt... W-Would you happen to have any b-bandages, M-M-Master?" He asked. "And if so, would y-you be so k-kind to let me h-have some? P-Please? You'd b-be so kind..."
Iris, and earth pony, trots through the town while looking to find some stacks of paper. She continues to look around often and attentively, appearing to be very defensive of herself.
Heart Song finished her bath and limped out into the hallway, where Blackout quickly bandaged her injured leg. "I suppose that will have to do. What you need is a doctor, but no doctor would be willing to treat an Earth Pony." (Short enough for you, NarrowLeaf?)
Robin Hoof was talking with the slave driver discussing the price to pay, settling on 350 bits. As the slave driver went to collect Atlanta Robin waited signaling for his carriage to be ready.
Once the slave driver arrived he took Atlanta to his carriage opening the door for her then getting in and closing it behind her. "Don't worry, names Robin Hoof the Earl of Loxely. Head of the equestrian side of the crystal-griffin underground railway. So you are safe with me, the abolitionist movement has contacts in high places you know".
Iris: Iris trotted along the block until she suddenly discovered that she was standing about thirty paces away from a slave trading area, with other earth ponies like herself being sold and auctioned. Fearing being caught and abused for some misunderstanding of not being around her master, Iris sneaked into a nearby alleyway. Silver Orion: Yawning, Silver sat up in the grass of the hill. It was day, but he was still tired. Curious, Silver glanced back at ponyville, which was just at the foot of the hill he was laying on; he noticed a carriage moving through the town, just like usual these days, but something about it made him feel that it was different. Groggily, Silver continued to watch the carriage, curious. Puck: Puck, having been resting laziliy on the roof of a house, heard a loud argument take place in a building nearby. "Should I check it out, or just sleep more. Decisions, decisions..." Puck sighed to himself, mulling around with what he should do next.
"thanks, you'll get one soon enough. In the meantime let me remove those shackles". He pulled out a key unlocking the bindings around her neck and legs. Then they arrived at a large estate with plenty of acres. "feel free to move about freely. As long as your in mine or any other abolitionists land you are a free mare. Though be careful because the 25 acres in the east and north belong to star supremacist, the owner of a cotton farm and Lord and Lady Vortex owners of a profitable diamond mine."
"Well, umm… thank you… wait, is this some kinda trick?", Atalanta asked, stepping out of the carriage, ready to run
Severin nodded and took some bandages and some ointment out of a cabinet. He applied the ointment to bandage and wrapped it around Narrow's wounds. "The ointment might sting a bit, clench your teeth if it hurt too much." He said in a calm voice while treating the wounds.
Silver Orion: Silver saw the carriage finally come to a stop in the distance, with the door opening. A pony, who Silver assumed was a slave, seemed to be standing in the doorway, hesitating to leave. Suddenly standing up and deciding to see what was going on, Silver put his smile on and began to trot into the distance towards the carriage, feeling his grogginess slowly fade with every hoofstep. Puck: "Meh, I have nothing better to do anyway." Puck groaned finally, before getting up and flying towards the house with all of the commotion. "Since when does somepony get all tied up over a birthday present, anyway?" Puck thought, recollecting the one phrase from the argument which he could make out. "Sounds like a job for me." Iris: After finally retrieving the paper, Iris began her trek back to the hill where Silver had sent her to get paper in the first place. "What does that stallion want with paper, anyway?" she mumbled.
Narrowleaf nodded and clenched his teeth. "Th-Thanks you, M-Master." He groaned. "'Urts l-l-like 'ell, but I sh-should be fine, though..."
"No problem Narrowleaf. Now, for food, you like potatos? Because I've got plenty of them." Severin said with a smile
"VALE! Can you bring me another coke?" The slave obediently came in with a Hoofa Cola can, putting it on the desk beside her master, who was focusing intensively on his screen. The silence returned to her master, who sat back on the chair, grabbed hold of the can and held it up, popping it open and taking a sip. "Ahh... you're a good girl, Vale. Don't leave." Vale nodded and responded with the normal, "Yes, Master." And headed out the room. Cracky looked over the piece. It was nicely made, abit crude as opposed to the first prototype. He named the file "randommusicsperimentv1.Mp3" and saved it, closing down the program and sitting back in his chair, watching along the screen, taking small sips of the cola. He sighed and shrugged, popping on his headphones, plugging them out of the machine and plugging them into his mobile. He looked over the room before checking the temperature. "Huh, 30 degrees centigrade. Ah well." He walks right out the room, walking forward while a slave, her name Miranda, put on a coat and closed the door before him. "Ah, it's cold outside, Master." He looked at her and smiled, nodding. "Ah, thank you. I'm happy i have such caring slaves." Miranda smiled and went on with her tasks, leaving Cracky as he existed the door and took out into the real world.
Narrowleaf gave a weak chuckle. "I'll be fine, Master. Whatever you'd give me would be perfect. I haven't eaten in days..." He mumbled. "...So... Uhm. Can you please just give me whatever. I'd be so happy, Master." He sighed and attempted to straighten his own mane.
With her leg bandaged, Heart Song felt much better. As much as she hated being a slave, and slave-owners in general, she was suprised by the kindness her new master was showing. "Thank you, Mas... Blackout. It is easier to walk now. What work do you have for me to do?" Blackout smiled. "I do my own chores. I always have. I think the first thing you need to do is go with me to the market. You look like you haven't eaten in days. We should get some food in you."
"Well in that case, you could have the last bit of steak. Got to get some protein in you." Severin said, taking some rolls of bread from the pantry and some raw meat from the freezer. "You can have these rolls until the meat is done cooking." He said, handing them to Narrow then putting the meat over the fire.
