Val stepped closer to the vat of chemicals, squinting slightly. She frowned and started going through the cupboards, looking for a container.
She held the container over the beaker and reached down carefully to fill it. "Hey! What are you two doing in here?!" Val started, and the liquid splashed on her hand. She hissed and pulled the full container out, capping it carefully. "Go! Go, go, go!"
They ran back up the hallway until they got to the door. It opened for them, and they ran back through the warehouse, bursting out into the winter air.
She followed him, slipping off her coat as she moved. She tossed that and the helmet to him, and jumped onto the bike, turning it on with one smooth movement.
She pulled out of the parking lot, driving mainly one-handed because of the chemical on her left hand. She bit her lip as they swerved down the road, her shoulders raising with each breath.
