She frowned before sighing slightly. "It isn't nothing, but I won't make you talk. Do you want to go in?" * * * Arlo cocked his head. "What about it?"
He nodded. "Let's." *** "I just think it's dangerous and I was worried," she said, her voice hurrying. "He didn't think I should be worried."
She turned and headed for the door, knocking three times, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. * * * He listened carefully. "Are you still worried?"
Poppy opened the door eventually. She still looked tired, but she smiled when she saw them. "Hey, you two. Come on in." * * * He swung his legs slightly. "I have to admit, I'm a little worried too."
He smiled slightly and stepped inside. " Thanks for having us." *** "I'm sorry for complaining to you."
"Yeah, of course," she said, leading them towards the back of the house. "But..." She hesitated before pinching the bridge of her nose. "Francis doesn't know you guys are here. He's at work, but..." * * * "No, don't be sorry," he said. "It's actually quite a relief that I'm not the only one thinking this way."
Landon pursed his lips. "It's our secret." *** She smiled slightly. "I don't even know what to think anymore."
Poppy nodded, although she still seemed guilty. "So. What did you want to show me?" * * * "It shows you care," he said gently.
She paused. "Green stuff?" Val produced it out of her bag and passed it to her. * * * "Seriously," he insisted. "It's not a bad thing to be worried about someone."
He nodded. "Green stuff." *** She stood up, stretching her arms. "Thanks for reassuring me," she said. "Seriously."
Poppy frowned, cupping it in her hands. "Hm... Come on. Let's go to my study." * * * Arlo shrugged. "Like I said, I've been feeling the same way."
Poppy led the way, frowning. "It looks suspiciously like the stuff that was in the timers..." ** * He laughed. "Well, if it's any consolation, Val could beat up just about anyone."
