She didn't move and Arlo rushed over to them. He didn't even say anything, he just opened the door to get to her.
They swung open the door to the narrow cell and Arlo hurried to her side. “Valerie?” he asked quietly, kneeling down besides her.
Arlo frowned and he felt for her pulse. At his touch, Val moved, her eyes flashing open as she kicked Arlo back against the wall. She wrapped an arm around Landon's neck, holding him in a headlock and she looked around fiercely before realizing who it was. She let go instinctually, backing away with her hands raised in surrender. "Holy *squee!*! I'm so sorry!"
"Probably," she agreed, walking over to Arlo and offering him a hand with an apologetic expression. "What are you guys doing here?"
She bit her lip, pulling down her sleeve to cover her shredded skin. "I'm okay. I'd like to get out of here, though."
He shook his head. "I don't know. Maybe you can wear one of these coats and put your hair up or something?"
She laughed lightly. "That's a little embarrassing." Arlo watched the two of them for a moment before sighing. "Come on. We should hurry.
