They had almost gotten to the car when the security guards burst out. “Stop!” One of them shot at Arlo and Val and an electric shock ran through Val’s small body, causing her figure to jerk erratically and her eyes to roll back in her head. Arlo managed to get her in the car and slid into the driver’s seat, pulling out of the parking place with a screech.
