"All I did was look at your glasses. I can always leave."
“But you don’t want to,” he said, tossing some snow at her playfully.
She frowned. "Doesn't mean I won't."
“Hmph. Fine. Go, if you’re so inclined.”
She turned to leave raising her arms. "Okay."
“No, no, wait,” he protested. “I’m sorry.”
She paused, a small smile crossing her face. "You don't want me to leave?"
“No, I don’t.”
She looked at him. "Why not?"
He hesitated before giving her a smile. “Why do you want to stay?”
She paused. "You dodged my question."
He laughed a little nervously. “Because you’re my friend, Cal! Isn’t that obvious?”
She nodded. "Yeah. I thought you never had a problem with leaving, though."
He shrugged. “I’m not sure. Maybe I just think you’re nice to hang out with.”
She laughed. "I guess so."
“Why don’t you want to leave?”
She shrugged. "Same reason, I guess."
“Uh huh. Sure.”
She raised an eyebrow nervously. "Well, what do you think it is?"
“I told you. You’re in love with me.”
