"Exactly! So what's the point of stating the obvious?"
“Because you liiiiike him.”
She groaned. "You're ridiculous."
“But I’m right. That’s what’s important.”
She sighed. "I guess so."
“Don’t be glum,” he told her. “I’m a teacher; I’m right most of the time.”
"Hah," she said sarcastically. "I used to hate my teachers."
“Well, you never had me.”
She cocked her head. "That's true. Most of them were ugly old ladies."
“I am the ugliest old lady!” he said triumphantly. “You would hate me.”
She laughed brightly. "You're basically the opposite of an ugly old lady."
He laughed brightly. “Look at me! I’m the oldest, ugliest ladiest you will ever meet!”
She laughed. "Maybe mentally.'
“Are you calling me a young, handsome guy?” he teased. “It’s very flattering.”
She glared at him. "Full of yourself."
“But honest.”
She paused. "I guess."
“I’m kidding, Cal. Don’t worry; I know you think I’m an ugly old lady.”
"Hmph. Yes you are."
“But! I’m also your friend, which is more than I can say for those teachers.”
