Back at it Again (One-on-One)

She sighed, putting her hands into her pockets.

“I’ll never understand you, Landon. Come on. Let’s go.”

 

“Walked. But I’m not heading home for a while.”

 

She paused but shook her head.

“It’s alright. I’m pretty grumpy right now anyway and I have some stuff you do. I found some stuff in here.”

 

“Seriously, I’m fine,” she said. “I’m probably just going to head to a coffee shop and do some research on what I found in here.”

 

She watched him for a moment before nodding.

“Okay. Sure. Thanks.”

 

She paused before giving him a small smile, beginning to head for the hallway.

“Yeah. It’ll be good.”

 

“Science notebooks,” she replied. “Old ones dating back decades.”

 

“It is exciting,” she agreed. “Only slightly dampened by the giant monster attack.”

 

“I don’t know. Some kind of machine they made, I guess.”

 

“Yeah. It kinda snuck up on me when it first got here.” She frowned, rubbing the back of her neck. “Scared the *squee!* out of me.”
