Back at it Again (One-on-One)

“Jesus, Landon. First you call me stubborn and then you call me crazy? Aren’t you supposed to be the nice one?”

 

“And yet you call me crazy and stubborn in the same conversation.”

 

“Pretty words aren’t sincere and sincere words aren’t pretty,” she replied wryly.

 

“Right. But you can’t be nice and sincere at the same time. It doesn’t work like that.”

 

She shrugged, flipping through the notebook.

“Sometimes, the universe is that kind,” she amended. “But often it isn’t and you certainly weren’t being kind when you called me crazy.”

 

She squinted at him, crossing her legs.

“How could being called crazy be meant as a compliment?”

 

"You're the one claiming to be Snow White and then hurling insults. Snow White does not call people stubborn."

 

"That's true. So you're Snow White."

 

"Hey, you called me stubborn, which I am not. I'm allowed to insult you with needless, false comments."

 

"Yeah, but you got to call me crazy and stubborn. I only called you one mean thing. Plus, you got the surprise attack. Everyone expects me to be awful."
