"Getting hurt," he replied flatly. "Ugh."
"You only get hurt if you're bad," she replied cheerily. "So, naturally, I don't get hurt."
"Oh yeah? The acid burn?"
She squinted at him. "We don't talk about the acid burn."
"I just did."
"Hmph. That was a bad time in my life and you're throwing it back in my face."
"And I cut my hand. What's the point?"
“I didn’t bring that up!”
"You only get hurt if you're bad," he teased. "Hm?"
“I don’t feel pain!” she replied dramatically. “Only mortals have to suffer.”
"Silly," he joked. "You're mortal."
She gasped, her hand on her heart. “How dare you! I’m a demon, good sir!”
"Demons only get burned by Holy Water. And you don't even leave behind sulphur."
“That’s what you think, but you’ve never seen me die.”
He rolled his eyes. "Alright, sure."
“Just you wait. I’ll erupt into flames before you have any idea what’s happening.”
"Sounds spooky," he said. "I bet you're fun on Halloween."
Her eyes lit up and she beamed. “I’m great at Halloween.”
He chuckled. "I'd believe it."
She grinned, leaning back in the chair. “I’m so excited this year. I’m going as a serial killer.”
