"I don't think I'm going as anything this year. I don't have any ideas."
She raised an eyebrow, glancing at him scoldingly. “Landon! You have to!”
He frowned. "But.. no ideas!"
“You could be a dog,” she suggested. “You would suit a dog.”
He frowned. "Eh."
“Or a gopher! Ooh, be a gopher! Please be a gopher.”
He frowned. "Why a gopher?"
“Because I want to see you with buck teeth.”
He scoffed. "No way."
“Landon, please?“ she asked, giving him a bright smile.
He rolled his eyes. "No way."
“Come on. For me? Your soulmate?”
He shook his head. "No."
“Landon,” she said, cocking her head. “We just scored a huge victory!”
"That has nothing to do with Halloween costume."
“Yeah, but we need to celebrate somehow! Please?”
"We can celebrate in any other way."
She squinted at him. “Then you’ll dress up as a goat?”
"No costumes!"
“Landon, puh-lease.”
