He beamed at her as he started the car. "Big mistake." * * * She rolled her eyes. "Come on, Landon. I'm offering free coffee here."
He chuckled slightly. "Like kissing a guy who will throw snowballs at you?" * * * "Either you tell me what you want or I buy you a hot chocolate. Up to you."
"Being beat in a snowball fight because you were too cold?" * * * "Hot chocolate or something else, Landon?"
"That's a myth; you can't get sick from being cold." * * * She pursed her lips at him playfully before adopting the same tone. "Landon..."
He squinted at her. "That sounds like a lie." * * * She put her hands on her hips, cocking her head. "Stop that."
He beamed, keeping his eyes on the road. "Sounds like a big, fat lie." * * * She laughed deeply, mimicking him. "Quit!"
"Pictures or it didn't happen." * * * "I'm buying my own drink," she mimicked, stepping in line in front of him.
"Then it didn't happen." * * * "Wow. I'm Val and I'm hurt," she teased before stepping up to the cashier. "One black coffee and one hot chocolate."
He wiped his brow with a silly grin. "Thank God." * * * Val smirked, passing him the hot chocolate. "Uh oh. Do I have to worry about you pranking me?"
