She raised her eyebrows. "I'm glad I'm not blind." *** He didn't look at her, his lips pursed as he kept his eyes down.
“Lucky you,” Arlo replied sarcastically. *** Val led him up to her room, rubbing the back of her neck. “Uh... anyway. Like I said, the room’s a little messy.”
She grinned, her eyes bright. "I am lucky. Pretty lucky to be in this date." *** He chuckled. "It's.. alright."
“With a blind guy.” *** She bit her bottom lip, looking up at him nervously before opening the door. It wasn’t too bad. There were newspapers on most available surfaces and some pictures pinned up on the wall.
He beamed at her. “Oh, good! I’m not 100% blind, anyway.” *** She frowned slightly. “Arlo always used to complain about the mess.”
“Eh... or maybe you shouldn’t have.” *** She went to the bed and flopped onto it lazily, looking up at the ceiling. “I should probably clean up, though. Not now, but I should.”
“I have a crush on a girl who’s trying to break my heart.” *** She squinted up at him before sighing. “You have a point.”
He took it with a goofy grin. “You’ve hurt me too badly.” *** She paused before sighing, sitting up. “I’m going to go take a shower.”
“Hmph. But it still happened.” *** She gave him a small smile before disappearing into the bathroom. “It was a damn good kiss.”
