“Hm,” he murmured as they drove up to her apartment building. He parked and looked over at her. “A movie? Or a museum? Oh! There’s a really neat aquarium on the other side of town...”
She glanced out the window. "Well, I've best get going," she said, kissing his cheek. "It was lovely."
"I'll see you," he agreed quietly, squeezing her hand slightly. He paused as she was getting out before speaking. "Hey... Cal?"
He gave her a somewhat shy smile before he kissed her, his hand coming up to brush her jaw. "I like you a lot."
He beamed before glancing at the door reluctantly. "I would walk you to your door, but I don't want to make it any more awkward between you and Landon than it has to be."
"I have to make sure you're safe, you understand. This is absolutely not because I want to talk to you for as long as I can. That would mean that I liked you. A lot."
