She gasped as it splattered against her skin. She leaped at him, pushing him against the wall. "You're dead." * * * "You know what giant squid do with shrimp? They eat them."
She beamed, tapping a bit of paint on his nose. "Me? Never." She paused, meeting his gaze thoughtfully. * * * "Giant squid eat humans too!"
She smiled slightly, her eyes tracing his features before she sighed. "Ah, screw it." She kissed him deeply, her hands coming up to cup his jaw. * * * "There's literally pounds of proof."
"But I'm done," she murmured against his lips. "I'm done trying to fight it." * * * He rolled his eyes. "Typical cultist."
"Does that mean.. We can be together?" he asked softly, his brows furrowed. *** She laughed. "It's true."
She frowned, straightening his collar. "If it's okay with you." * * * He sighed and straightened up. "Come on. Let's go look at scary animals."
She kissed him back, her arms draping lazily over his shoulders. * * * They walked through a curtain just in time to see a giant squid past over them. Arlo squeezed her hand, pursing his lips.
She beamed up at him a little shyly. "I agree. I'm sorry it's taken me so long." * * * "No," he insisted. "I just don't like deep water."
"I think you're just saying that because I frown a lot." * * * "I just don't like deep water, that's all."
