“Stay cozy,” she replied as they headed inside. *** “I have no weaknesses,” he said, bringing her a bowl of popcorn and a glass of apple juice.
They got to their door and she turned to him, her brow raised. “Hey, I like you a lot,” she told him, watching him intently. *** He flopped next to her and kissed the top of her head, resting an arm on her shoulder. “I’m serious.”
She pursed her lips before eventually nodding, opening the door. The cats approached them, meowing frantically. *** "You should. I'm too manly to have any weaknesses."
She gave a slight laugh as they closed the door behind them. “I’m glad you have such faith in me.” *** “I’m not the one with outdated concepts of manliness.”
She smiled before taking a seat on the floor, crossing her legs. She pulled Mo onto her lap and petted him thoughtfully, considering the room. “We have a lot of work to do.” *** “Uh huh. Shame on you.”
She leaned against his shoulder, kissing his cheek. “We should probably paint.” *** He sighed. “That’s a lie.”
He nodded, putting an arm around her. "Yeah." *** She took his hand, turning back to the movie. "Yeah."
She gave him a somewhat shy smile before resting her head against his chest. “Then let’s not.” *** His fingers played with her hair as he turned his attention back to the movie.
He kissed the top of her head. "We'll do it tomorrow?" *** She went quiet, watching for awhile before her breathing shallowed and she drifted off.
