A small smile crossed his face. “I’m kidding, Rhodes.” *** He paused before pulling away hesitantly. “Do you... do you want to go to my room?”
"You don't need to be so on edge, Landon," she said casually, sliding one arm around his torso. "I really like you." * * * He blinked and gave her a slightly shy smile. "You sure? You don't have to if you don't want to."
She sighed, kissing his shoulder. "You're apologizing too much." * * * He nodded slowly before taking her hand and leading her to his room, closing the door behind them.
"I promise!" *** A bit later, Callie rested soundly, her fingers gently holding the fabric ood the sheets.
“What value does the promise of a liar have?” *** Arlo had his arms wrapped around her, his face buried in her hair.
"That was deep, Val. Good thing I don't lie." *** She turned her head slightly, her eyes fluttering as she shifted.
“I feel like we’ve been over this.” *** He murmured before his eyes fluttered open and he looked down at Callie, his eyes widening slightly in surprise.
“So why is it that we can’t seem to come to a conclusion?” *** His blush was rapid and immediate as he looked down, reaching for his glasses. “Hey.”
He shrugged. "Because I'm being impossible?" *** She chuckled, a small flush on her cheeks as well. "What a nice thing to wake up to," she teased.
"Oh, yeah," she agreed with a smirk, kissing his cheek. "Forgot about that part." * * * "Definitely," he agreed, polishing his glasses with the bed cover, his fingers long and slender. He slipped them on before leaning over to kiss her cheek, his arms returning to wrap around her. "For some reason, I was worried you'd be gone when I woke up."
"Aw, baby," she teased, kissing the back of his hand. "I win every time." * * * He hesitated for a moment before giving her a smile. "Once. But it was a long time ago."
"I'm probably too scared to win." *** She was quiet for a moment, before turning to kiss him. "I would never do that to you. I'm your soul mate."
