She sat up, a quick glance out the window telling her that it was dark outside. She stood up, intending to go grab a blanket.
She came back and curled up next to him, pulling the blanket over the two of them. *** “What if it was?”
His eyes fluttered as he awakened, and he looked at her with a cocked head. *** "Then that's the cutest thing."
She finished placing the blanket around him and settled back into her spot before she noticed he was awake. "Oh. Hey." * * * "Hm. Well, in that case, it wasn't a blush."
He shut his mouth nervously for a moment. "Do you.. love me?" *** She moved kiss his cheek. "Really?"
She blinked, surprised. A strange expression crossed her face and it would take Landon a moment to recognize it as fear. "What?" * * * "Mmh. I wouldn't blush."
He panicked slightly. "Do you love me?" *** " Oh yeah?" she asked. "Even because of the reason we never finished the game?"
She pulled away slightly, wringing her hands nervously. "What... what would make you say that?" * ** He squinted at her, his jaw tightening as he pushed down the blush. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Well.. You told me." *** She persisted, her fingers brushing his waist. "You remember. Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it?"
"Earlier.. You were half asleep." He shook his head. "It was stupid of me to ask." *** She gasped teasingly. "You didn't?!"
"No!" she said, taking his face in her hands. "No, it wasn't stupid. I..." Clearly distressed, she kissed him, her hands coming up to run through his hair. * * * "No! I mean, of course I did!"
She was quiet, adjusting his shirt before kissing him again. "I love you." * * * "It's not going to work. I have a mastery over my mind."
