She laughed brightly. "Fantastic!"
He stood up, giving Callie a big kiss on the cheek. “Look at our dog!”
She nodded brightly. "I love him!"
“He likes us enough to follow us! Us!”
"We must be special!"
“Of course we are. We’re badass!”
She laughed, kissing his cheek. "Right. We have our family now. We should definitely spoil him."
“With treats and stuff?”
She nodded. "Precisely."
“And loooove?” he sang.
She grinned. "Exactly. I love you both."
He laughed, clearly delighted. “You love me. I keep forgetting that.”
She leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Of course I do."
He grinned, looking down at Mars. “Well. I love you too, for the record.”
She took his hand. "I looove you!'
He laughed, squeezing her hand tightly. "I looooove you too!"
She leaned over to kiss his cheek. "You're the best."
He eyed her thoughtfully, pushing his glasses up his nose. "The best, huh? The best what?"
"Person," she replied. "The best person."
