He flushed slightly, glancing down at the dog. "I'm telling Nugget."
"I said person; not dog."
“What about between Nugget and I?”
"I love you both equally, then."
He pouted dramatically. “What? Really?”
She laughed adoringly. "Would you rather me love you more?"
“Probably, yeah. Just a little bit.”
She leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Fine. A little bit more."
He grinned mischeviously. “I’m telling Nugget.”
She crossed her arms. "You asked for it."
“I adore you, but you’ve hurt our dog.”
"I have not. I'm starting to love him more."
He gasped, his hand to his heart. “How could you say that?”
"You're being mean."
“But... you don’t love me?”
"I love you," she reassured, "but I nearly love Nugget more."
“You... Wow. So, we’re breaking up?”
She laughed. "No, Arlo. We aren't breaking up."
“Jesus. A week of dating and you already want to say we’re done?”
"I am not breaking up with you!"
