Back at it Again (One-on-One)

"The pediatrics ward," she said impatiently, tugging on a lock of hair nervously.

 

"The nursery, I would say," Val said. "We have to see what the brand new times look like."

 

She frowned.

"You don't think that's the right way to go?"

 

She frowned. This was the part she was worried about.

"Well, I thought about it," she said tersely. "I think you're right. They won't believe us as siblings."

 

She frowned but nodded.

"Unfortunately, that's probably the most likely scenario."

 

"For discovery," she repeated in a deadpan tone.

 

She sighed before clasping her hands with mock enthusiasm.

"It's going to be wonderful!" she said with a simper. "Discovery! Yay!"

 

She returned to her normal expression, which happened to be a scowl.

"That was the worst moment of my life."

 

She shuddered jokingly.

"It was horrible."

 

"Barely," she muttered. She paused and then suddenly seemed to remember who she was talking to, and she straightened up.

"Come on," she said. "Let's go in."
