"Yeah," she said quietly, slipping the timer in her bag. "Let's go."
He pursed his lips, creaking the door open slightly to check for anyone.
It seemed empty.
He opened the door wider, stepping out cautiously.
Val peered out. "Is it safe?"
He nodded, taking a few steps out as he held the door open. "I think so."
She followed him, her eyes wide with nerves. "We have to hurry."
He nodded, briskly walking out. "We'll be quick."
She followed him anxiously, obviously disturbed.
He glanced back at her, opening the door for her. "Are you okay?"
"I just... I feel like my world been turned upside down."
His eyebrows furrowed. "Only we know, though. We need to show the public."
"Not yet," she said with a frown. "We need more information."
He frowned. "Like what?"
"Why were they put on us? Who was doing it? Why is it a secret?"
He frowned. "That could take awhile.."
"We need to figure this out," she said, looking up at him seriously.
"We will," he promised. "It will take awhile, though."
She sighed before nodding. "That's okay."
He was quiet for a moment. "Do you think we can?"
