"Because. We've been taught our whole lives that this is the person we're supposed to spend the rest of our lives with. And I've had to look at my boyfriend and we've had to prepare for the day when you and I meet. It's a little hard to just... forget all that."
He crossed his arms. "Callie and I told each other that when we meet our soulmates, we don't have to dislike them because we are together. Obviously compatibility will be involved, but we push through it."
"It's not like Arlo and I decided to be hostile," she said defensively. "It just comes a little more easier to me."
She pursed her lips as they exited the hospital. "I'm going to give this to my friend to analyze," she said quietly. "See if she can help us."
"See you later," she replied, trying a small smile. It changed her face entirely, and for a moment, she didn't seem so worried. She put on her helmet and sped off, slipping slightly in the snow.
