She chuckled before clasping her hands together.

"Oh my god. Want to hear the greatest joke of all time?"

He paused before kissing her cheek.

"Even though I do love you."

 

"Please, Landon? It's so good."

"You seem sad."

 

"Okay, okay. So a giraffe walks into a bar wearing a monocle and a top hat, right?"

"Would you tell me if you were?"

 

She laughed, shaking her head.

"And the giraffe orders seven martinis, right?"

He nodded, satisfied before he leaned down and picked up Nugget.

"Excellent."

 

"He orders seven martinis, right?"

* * *

"Of course. But I'm not sad."

 

Her smile was still on her face.

"He orders seven martinis."

Suddenly the grin slipped from her expression and she shook her head.

"And shame on you for wanting a punchline. That giraffe needs help."

"I can't be sad. It's impossible."

 

She laughed deeply.
