The creature clicked, swiveling his head to look over at him. Val’s eyes rolled back in her head as she passed out, her body going limp.
He pulled something from his car. It looked like a large knife. Stepping towards the creature and Val, he held it tight in his hand. *** She reached around to check his back pockets.
The creature hissed before charging forward, brandishing its legs like blades. *** He yelped, pulling away. “Callie!”
The creature yelped as one of the front arms fell off and it swung at Landon. There were three holes in its chest, presumably where Val had shot at it. *** “Stay away from my butt!”
It screamed, backing up as another leg fell off. It looked around for a moment before noticing Val, and it headed towards her.
The creature screamed and tried to pull him off and Val’s eyes fluttered open. *** “It’s a sacred thing.”
She sat up, looking around as the creature flailed, its attacks growing weaker. *** “My butt is not yours!”
The combination of image were hard for her to understand in her state, but she pulled out her pistol and fired three shots into the creature’s chest. The final one was true and it stiffened before crashing to the ground. *** “It’s on my body!”
Val's head was bleeding and she crossed the lawn to him, one hand pressed to the wound. "What... what are you doing here?" she asked blearily.
"I don't..." Her ribs shifted painfully and she drew a sharp breath before shaking her head. "I had it handled." * * * "Are you Michael Jackson?"
"I... My car is parked somewhere down the street," she said, blinking as she struggled to focus. "I'll figure it out." * * * "Have you ever listened to 'Bad' by Michael Jackson?"
