"No I didn't," he said quietly. "We broke up. I didn't want that.." *** "You're the one who brought out the tape."
She groaned in frustration, tugging at her hair. "Landon... it's not like that. I really, really loved you, okay? I... we're just..." * * * "And you put it in my hair."
"I do love you," she said quietly, not meeting his gaze. "I do. I just... I don't know." * * * "I'm dead."
She was quiet, looking down at her hands. “I’m sorry I’ve made this so hard.” *** “Someone without tape in their hair.”
He coughed, his hand going to his side as he winced. "It's.. It's fine." *** "But you're the one I love!"
Her gaze flickered towards him and she moved to take his hand before seeming to think better of it. “Does it hurt terribly?” *** “Should have thought of that before you put tape on my head.”
He seemed hesitant to answer. "It, uh.. It hurts pretty bad." *** "Well.. I'm gonna pull it all off at once, okay?"
“Oh, Landon,” she murmured hopelessly, shaking her head. “God. I’m so sorry I got you caught up in all this.” *** “I’ll go bald!”
“No, but not just this. If we hadn’t started investigating the timers, you and I would have never gotten together. You wouldn’t have felt like this.“ *** “I’ll die from blood loss.”
"Val, please.. I was happy with you. Even if I feel bad now, I wouldn't want to give up the memories." *** "You're a drama queen."
She looked at him and there was definite longing in her expression, but she quickly stood, shaking her head. “I… I should leave.“ *** “ I am injured!”
“Not because I don’t want to be here,” she hastened to say, looking down at him. “It’s just... I think I’m causing more harm than good.” *** “Lights fading.... limbs growing cold.”
"I suppose I should have enjoyed the presence when I could, huh?' *** She pulled it all off at once, a small smirk on her face.
